Well been without a car for a few weeks now as i had to move mine on due to the ulez,
at present im rolling round in a small car that ive got on loan from a fmaily member. roller skate haha
anyway i went and put a deposit down on a used car from a main dealer a few days ago but for some reason now im getting cold feet on the idea of this car!
so far all ive signed is an oder form but the sales rep or manager hasnt signed this (blank spaces where they should have/ supposed to maybe ? when the final transaction is made on collection?
will i loose my deposit due think as im sure this isnt a legally bidning form without all partys signing it,
also there should be a second page with the terms and conditons which i didnt recieve along with this slip?
hoping somebody has a bit of info on this?
thanks guys

Most dealers aren't taking deposits to make money off them. They'll almost definitely give it back rather than get into an argument.

I put down a reservation deposit on a vehicle, which was fully refundable, was straight up with the person I dealt with that I was dependant on a 3rd party getting back to me on requirements but he was all encouraging me to reserve it like yeah no problem - called back first thing the next morning to say it wasn't going to work and the (different) person on the phone tried to chew me out for it bitching about how real customers only reserve a vehicle if they are serious about buying, etc. Which was pretty stupid of them because I was still interested in buying something, had otherwise a good experience with them, and would likely have used them if not then in the future but not after that. Got the money back no problem though.

No paperwork or terms on their website? I bought a used car from a dealership tail end of last year and the deposit was fully refundable - was just to show a level of commitment while they got the car ready for sale, trying to stop people holding stock with no intention of buying.

Depends on the deposit though. Surely the limit is only the amount of funds at your disposal.

Most of the dealers I have anything to do with limit the number of reservations you can do, at least with the same details. The one I use most IIRC is 1 online and up to 2 at the same time if one is done in person.
