We all know that the sales around BF are an obvious time to look out for a deal but are there other times of the year that deals come up? I have read that July can be a good month as being the summer, in the northern hemisphere at least, sales are slow and prices come down to stimulate sales. Has anyone seen any figures to back this up?

I don't think it works like that.
Supply and demand changes, sure, but I don't think the weather has a significant impact on that.
Not so much the weather but buying patterns. I know I don't spend a lot of time stuck in front of a PC in the summer

Summer is generally a worse time for dGPU sales.
Yeah, Christmas is probably the worst time as you’ve got people buying them as gifts. But it’s too complicated and not a consistent thing with new cards coming out all the time, supply levels going up and down all the time all impacting the price and whether discounts are being made available.
Just to add; and depending on your needs and requirements it can work out well, as long as you're not wedded to having the latest and greatest. It's still a new shiny to you, afterall.

The high end cards certainly dropped in price. The likes of the 3090ti and 6950xt dropped in price when the new cards launched.
I saw 3090ti being sold for around 1200 at retailers.
