6800XT... Got a favour to ask...

I'm VERY tempted to get a 6800XT now over the 6700XT I had my heart set on...

I've just seen multiple people go from 270w @4K 70ish FPS in RDR2 down to 190-204w and retain the same of within 5-7fps difference...

Now I just want a locked 60fps @ 1080p for single player and IF I bothered with CS:GO/2 I'll unlock the framecap and 1:1 sync it with my monitor...

Can someone that's got an undervolted 6800XT do a 5-10min stability test in a game with Radeon chill/framelimit within the game (whichever you want) at 60fps 1080p ultra of say Cyberpunk/TLOU/Resi2,3,4 Remakes/Anything a year old or new'ish single player wise and let me know your results?

I'm not bothered if I loose like 10fps or something and not bothered about an overclock... Strictly about the undervolt and best bang per buck fps vs power usage with the extra 4gb of vram the 6800XT has over the 6700XT - which gives me a bit more future proofing playing at tasty settings...

If I can get around 160-180w draw peak on a 6800XT undervolted at 1080p 60fps locked in SP games then I'll probably bite the bullet and go for that instead of the 6700XT.

Let me know what you can achieve :)

Yeah that'd be greatly appreciated mate, nice one!
No problem. I've just run the CP2077 benchmark at 1080p Ultra preset (with no upscaler) and limited to 60fps the GPU power(as reported by the logging tool built into the Radeon control panel) showed an average of 116w for the run.

Clocks averaged 1355, this was with an undervolt to 1.05 which I've found stable in all non RT games, but does cause the Radeon drivers to reset occasionally when I restart my PC. Even so, with a more moderate undervolt you wouldn't be breaching 180w.

Will try TLOU shortly.

Ok, TLOU went to 127w and 1800MHz in the opening area of the city after the intro section in the past. I'm happy to do another run when I reach a more rural area, but I imagine the picture won't change much.

Oh my god mate, you've literally made my day!

I was on a quest to get the best bang per watt possible, as I've recently changed all my consoles to the lower power versions (ps3/4 both slims with ssds) and got really into keeping my footprint as small as possible with the horrific 46p/kw hour we pay, so these results you've achieved are amazing.

With my monitor/amp/speakers/pc it'll probably not even touch 280w at the wall now! Buzzing to buy the 6800XT now and finish the build come end of the month, as I was going to go for a 6700XT due to worries about the 6800XT's consumption!

Thank you SO much for this!

Techpowerup show this in their review. The vsync results are cyberpunk at 1080p. The 6800 non xt is much more efficient.

It is more efficient, though the undervolt brings the 6800 XT in line with the vanilla model, and it has the extra performance of overhead so should last longer (around 15% faster for about that much higher cost based on the models in stock at OCUK). Of course the 6800 can be undervolted too.

As it's pushed more in future titles the power consumption will increase but that's true of any card.

I am going to be alright with an NZXT 850w psu right? 5700X + 6800XT, 3 case fans with rgb via with sata, a single m.2...

Definitely, I've been running mine for over 2 years on a 10 year old 850w EVGA PSU so even if you wanted to overclock you won't have any problems.

Ah thank god, as I'd already spec'ed a 850w over a 750w for the 6700XT then thought I'm really not up for paying the 1000w+ scene psu tax haha! Thanks again!
