What would you buy? BMW or Tesla?

Same with most cars, you probably won't get major issues inside the warranty period. Manufacturers make sure most parts survive that long at least. Unless it's a Range Rover haha

After 3-5 years is when you really start to see how well made they are.

Depending on model most recent diesels the manufacturers guidance for avoiding issues with DPF and turbo is along the lines of situations to avoid:

- When vehicle speed remains below 15 km/h (10MPH) for a long period of time.
- When the engine is frequently stopped and re-started within 10 minutes.
- When the vehicle is frequently used for short journeys of 10 minutes or less.
- When the engine is frequently stopped before it has warmed up.

don't say that.... I just put deposit on a 2.5 year old Jag :D

M25 is strange at times - I actually don't mind it when you've got 3-4 lanes of traffic at 50MPH at certain times of day - can be quite chilled - but at the same time I think it kind of lulls people into switching off increasing risk on the one hand and making other people frustrated and more likely to do silly things to make progress on the other. Then you have the inevitable rich, probably foreign, kids in their Porsches, etc. winding in and out of the sedately moving traffic at 90MPH.
 
Sounds like a much better choice than a diesel for low milage, and you'll get a decent interior unlike anything Tesla are putting out.

In all fairness, I haven’t been in a 2015 Tesla, but the F3x gen BMW interiors are genuinely quite bad.


So many rattles/creeks. Mine drove me insane.


I recently looked at an F80 M3 and just couldn’t get over the interior quality.


Even my E88 feels better put together :(

What was making the noise? I'm not afraid of pulling things apart and adding foam pads everywhere lol. Did that on my mazda

after watching S video on the easy air suspension renewal, engineering quality with aluminium suspension arms look nice, noble materials.
although continued absence of android auto/car play it seems, but some fairly cheap aftermarket boxes, versus bmw options, unless you're going full dspamp

I say this as a model 3 owner, whatever the interior is like on the BMW it will be better put together :D. I'm not sure AA or caraway is needed (in the tesla), I just use my phone as a WiFi hotspot then connect to that and use the Spotify in the car. I've set up routines to turn the hitspot on amd off for my commute so it's no more hassle (unless there's no signal).

I'd probably get the Tesla if you are planning to stay at the same office location in the medium term, ignoring the specifics of the cars themselves it seems like a big benefit to get free fuel.
