Rather than have 2 versions of the 4060Ti, would Nvidia have been better just launching the 8GB 4060 as the entry level card it is at the announced price of $299, and the 4060Ti 16GB at $399 + about twice the cost of the extra 8GB VRAM ($429? $449?)?
We will know a lot more once reviews of the 8GB 4060Ti appear.
Certainly looks like they weren't originally intending to have the 4060Ti 16GB at all. Looking back to the 1060, the higher capacity 6GB version launched a month before the 3GB version, so this time round its the wrong way around if it had been planned over 6 months ago rather than just this year.
