Is there going to be 7800 xt?

RE4 running fine at 4k on a 4070 here, Hogwarts runs fine with DLSS, running it native is sub 60 FPS anyway. How about pick a GPU and play some games, you are worrying over nothing.

As for AMD, it might have 16GB but then you will have lesser RT performance and inferior FSR and no frame gen. These will be essential at this performance class at higher resolutions.

Will it not turn into the same story as the 3070 with a lot of games crashing and that in a couple of years?

Mate, It's £550, if I had issues by the time the next Nvidia gen hit, I would sell on and the get the £500-600 5070 that will more than likely have more vram. Don't overspend on a GPU if you can help it, there is always something faster and better equipped around the corner at a lower price.

980ti so big upgrade want to get it right

if you dont mind the power draw why not go for a 6950XT if your budget is under £600?

The 7800 XT wont be faster than that, as it will be too close to the 7900 XT (unless they just discontinue the 7900 cards).

Its likely the 7800 XT will be around 6900/6950 XT perf for £500-£600 anyway (it will just no doubt have better power efficiency).
