EV owner for 1 DAY and already angry at some people :D

It's much less of a problem now as chargers are more expensive and there are more of then.

When you're in an EV with limited range, and have to charge to get home - any vehicle using the charger you need is a problem.
Plan better problem solved.

would stop people messing around - a purely time based charging policy like Paris , for 7/22/50kw chargers
Up to 7 kW BOOST (1) (2) Up to 22 kW BOOST+ (2) Up to 50 kW 0.35 € / kWh incl.
Tax and VAT + 0.55 € / 15 min incl. Tax and VAT 2.30 € / 15 min incl. Tax and VAT 0.38 € / min incl. Tax and VAT

( French charging app/map that shows cost under different subscriptions/app for each charge point, haven't seen anything as good for UK. )

As a non EV or PHEV owner, this issue doesn't impact me but it's something I didn't ever wonder about until a) this thread and b) literally seeing today, a real life example of experiences shared in this thread.

I walk to work everyday, walking through our local train station car park on my journey and this car park has just had public charging points installed, although I don't think they're active yet based on the notices on the charging points themselves.

Today, an Outlander PHEV was parked in one but wasn't connected (assuming because they're not active yet). The other 8 odd charging bays were empty, as if others knew parking there wasn't a good idea considering the parking wardens will take a mile if you give an inch. So if either an BEV or PHEV is parked in a space but isn't plugged in, would they get a ticket?

So how is day 3 as an EV owner going? ;)
I have done all of 20 miles in it so no issues yet ;)

the car is top drawer, it's great to have a car designed to put a smile on your face again and not just get you from A to B. not had that since selling my 350z a few months before my lad was born almost 8 years ago.

I was figuring out a few settings and realised the car was in eco mode which limits its power. it was pretty quick before so will be interesting to see how the other 2 modes behave

proper road trip in it next friday

I didn't quite realise how big the ipace is. I knew it was a bit bigger than my nissan QQ but it is significantly bigger. my zappi install is in 4 weeks. I plugged in using the granny cable at home to test it .. car is at 79% charge but still said 15hrs to full

OK it seems from what I have read we have had a similar car journey.

Back in 2007 I had a 350z for only a few months before I realised it was impractical as an only car, even for a single guy.

In 2014 I also had a Qashqai after I got married and had a child. That was an objectively terrible car on every level other than it looked OK. Poorly built trash. That was when I swore never to own another give up on life car.

There are plenty of well made, great driving, practical cars out there that are genuinely capable of putting a smile on your face and the I-Pace is one of them. I have owned my I-Pace for a year now and still look forward to driving it.

20 miles in three days, get the family out for a family trip today as an excuse. You don’t even need to push to appreciate how nice a car it is.

Edit. Just saw you are granny charging. That explains it and why you want access to that work charger :)
