Your bad driving encounters/irritations

M1 this afternoon, Golf undertaking, weaving through the traffic, even going on the hard shoulder to get past people, all at 70mph plus. So many tools about. I suspect this one probably didn't even have a licence.
Zero police of course so people can pretty much do what they like.

a moth was in the car.

I've a colleague who reacts like that to moths - though if it is just there minding its own business she usually goes dead quiet suddenly and will stand there rooted to the spot gesturing for someone to removed it, if it flies in their face or something they'll literally go screaming through the building like that to get away from it.

Funny thing is there is a section at the start of the dual-carriageway I use to commute to work which is still 40 for the first couple of hundred yards - so many people just go straight to whatever speed they'd be doing on the rest of the dual-carriageway. Gets a bit silly sometimes when I'm doing a good 40 and they go past me or start to go past me at 55-65 but then they just sit at that speed and once the limit changes I leave them for dust. Yet I bet many of them would condemn that person for doing 75 in a 40 LOL.

(And probably many of them think I'm a bad driver).

A company van sailed through two red lights on a roundabout in front of me. It’d be a shame if I had a dashcam, shots of their company van and knew how to post a google review. Hopefully they provide more care with their service than their driving.

I had a guy from a local company in their van cut me up on a roundabout, brake check me because I'd beeped him as he was trying to drive into the side of me and then pull up alongside me at the next set of lights and come out with something like "I only braked because I thought you wanted to chat".

The only time I've ever pulled video off my dashcam and off it went to the companies email address with some blurb about it also being submitted to the police, I'd have let it slide if he didn't then pull up and start being a smart arse. Hopefully someone gave him a slap on the wrist and he thinks twice about doing it now at least.

Christ, 10 weeks suspended sentence for doing double the speed limit and injuring another driver. May as well do what you like apparently!

Yup, as has been said many times, if you want to murder someone, do it in a car - unless you're extremely unlucky, you'll probably get off with a slap on the wrist and perhaps a driving ban...

Always baffling how people act in company vans.

We get at least a couple of completely made up complaints a month about our van drivers at work which is kind of bizarre - fortunately in most cases it is possible to figure out it couldn't possibly be a valid complaint quite quickly. We take the driver's conduct seriously though - we've let a few new starters go over the years due to how they act in the work vans.

Had someone coming the other way through a town driving somewhat frantically, nearly hit the person in front of me trying to squeeze through the same narrowing bit of road despite our side having priority, with part of the trim on the passenger side of their vehicle sticking out about a metre off the car (looked like there was some other damage as well) smacking against each parked car as they drove along... from the general impression I think they'd had a minor collision and done a runner.
