Unhappy customer

Free t shirt; for some odd reason every super car owner has to wear a matching shirt or hat
Look what I've got, and its not even a super car, lol!

It's nice to see, no matter how much you spend on a car, the customer service from main dealers is still below expectations... I really enjoyed my 1 hour drive in heavy traffic this morning to get to the dealer for 730 as requested and be told they won't look at the car until the afternoon and they won't have the part I told them it needed. :(

I'll be sticking with specialist independents going forward anyway.

Do it all for free. After all, they charged you for doing the MOT, didn't they? You say that they've looked after you very well up to now, so why poison the relationship? Everyone makes mistakes, so just let them fix it. With regards to the car show, assuming you passed your test before 2001, what was stopping you hiring a small flatbed truck and some ramps and taking your supercar on that? You can drive your supercar on private land without a MOT.
How good (or bad) a company acts and behaves is only truly shown when things go wrong, not when things are going smoothly. Wait and see what they offer and react accordingly.

Main dealers are hit or miss....they recently serviced my newish RS.......gave it a good clean.....then for some reason returned it to the forecourt with an extra 8 miles on it all within 1.5 hours! despite the service not requiring any driving from them!

The service manager could not explain it ..... I will not be using them again  as I suspect someone took it up the nearby Motorway for a quick thrashing

Ford? They have a policy of using Customer cars for pick and drop off services. My moms car went in for service and came back with about 50 miles on it as it was used to go and drop off each of the other drivers.

Sounds like it was used for the lunch run.

I've had my truck used before by one of the staff to drop off their wife to work... (in for a service and had a fair few more miles on it than I was expecting so checked the dashcam) not really happy about that, though personally I don't begrudge them taking it out for a run but in another context it could look bad on the customer if someone who knows the vehicle sees it being thrashed down a road :s

It was in the morning...but yep they took the **** so I bought a load of tools to DIY in future just cannot trust anyone it seems! They obviously thrashed it as well to cover 8 miles & full service in 1.5 hours....!

Thats shocking its your car not theirs to use as they wish...if they changed the brakes they might need to drive a few miles to make sure its safe but not 50 miles!

Garages become something you fear with a nice car, sadly. Mine is in next week, the prep ahead of the visit has been time consuming.

Similar happened when my Golf R was in at VW for a service, I always reset the trip computer when I drop it off and take a photo of the mileage. Got it back with 15 miles extra on the clock with an average MPG of 14mpg… they completely denied the whole lot so I showed them the history from the tracker they didn’t know was installed. Absolutely trashed up and down the dual carriage way and the M4, had been to KFC and at one point hit 115 mph.

They used CCTV to find out who did it and fired them. Service and MOT cost refunded. I’ll still never take it back there ever again.

I have my car serviced with Smart. They collect and return it. It’s about 6 miles there and back to their premises. Never comes back with more than expected miles. Max speed limit here is 40 mph so they couldn’t thrash it anyway and my car isn’t capable of doing 115 mph.

The speed limit over here isn't 115mph either but specials gonna special.

When I worked in a garage many many years ago, we fitted a new clutch and a second hand rear axle to a Corolla AE86. Naturally the best way of checking it all was to check it would go sideways effectively and do donuts.

The spots we chose to do this were here:

And here:

"Test drive complete, does lovely donuts and locks up nicely on downchanges"

We didn't do any customer pick ups though, so all good! :D

How many times had they done that undetected in other cars? Dozens most likely.

We’ve got one short dual carriageway here, if you’re doing the 40 mph speed limit people often over take you at 50 mph or above. They probably never go higher than 60 mph though. I’m patient and stay at 40 mph.
