Palit RTX 3080 Ti Game Rock (used) for £580. Should I buy one?

I've heard this model has a good cooler on it, after reading some reviews:

I'd be looking for a graphics card that will give smooth framerates in pretty much every game, at 1440p.

There are some cheaper models I could buy from other brands, but they don't seem to have fans with dual ball bearings.

As as far as I can tell, the hotspot temps are reasonable on this card.

Anyone got a Palit card?

I would probably still not go for above £500. I just think re-selling D4 is probably -£40 and otherwise I'd pay another £40 for frame generation (+ efficiency), so a 4070 is closer to £540. The raw extra grunt of a 3080 Ti just isn't enough to off-set the difference imo. And in an era of ever expanding discounts for GPUs there's also no rush, so anything more than £500 for a 3080 Ti feels pretty meh.

I'm not really considering the RTX 4070 tbh, the performance wasn't up to scratch in some games (patched or not, the RTX 3080 TI coped better).

It's not an easy choice between the RX6950 XT and the RTX 3080 TI imo (depends what features you value). Overall, the TI appeals to me more, just because it has DLSS2 (generally a little better than FSR2), and I'd also have the option of enabling RT without crippling performance too badly.

I suspect that I will keep the card for a few years.

Alternatively, I could buy a cheaper brand RTX 3080 TI for £540, but I'm not sure it's worth cheaping out.

I’d think the extra 4gb of ram would be the key feature of the 6950xt especially if you plan to keep the card a few years.

I would definitely buy an RX 7900 XT for £650, but judging by the reference model price, it's not going to happen for a little while.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it falls in price further especially as AMD don’t seem to have a 7800XT.

I'm fairly sure they are just holding back the Navi32 GPUs like the RX 7800 XT (or maybe it would just be called RX 7800), until all the top Navi21 cards have been sold, like the RX 6900 XT / RX 6950 XT.

But, that doesn't explain why there haven't been any Navi32 GPUs for laptops, yet.

They still have plenty of 6700XTs / 6600XT / 6650XTs but that didn’t stop them dropping a 7600.

I think they’ll just lower the price of the 7900XT as it’s really just a 7800XT anyway.
