Kazakhstan declines to join Russia and Belarus's new mini Soviet Union, the president of Kazakhstan said it's funny, he thought Lukashenko was telling a joke. The offer of tactical nukes doesn't seem to sway opinion

Kazakhstan like its neighbours will probably find that Chinese money and investment is worth more than Russias agreements and their military equipment

 I guess its only a matter of time now till Russia announces plans to de-nazify Kazakhstan:eek:

I do get the feeling Russia have become more organised. I guess at some point you've got to learn from all your mistakes.

The counteroffensive is gonna require a really strong punch I reckon. Also, Russia seem to have a lot of cruise missiles now to defend with.

The delays may have been costly.

Also, you do get the feeling that a lot of the drones may be decoy drones sent to deliberately use up AD cheaply.

I don't think I've seen anything that suggests the Russian military or its political leaders have learnt anything. Ukraine will launch its offensive when it is ready and it has everything it needs in place.

I mean you give them enough time and they learn to jam HIMARS to make them way less effective.

Russians aren't monkeys, they will have smart people. They can learn and develop tech and tactics, and nothing develops a military like a war.

We've given them time to become more effective. If Ukraine had the tanks and missiles they needed in the last offensive, then they could have continued going not giving Russia a break.

I agree we should have armed them with advanced weapons months ago, we should be giving them lots more long range missiles so they can hit Russian supplies plus command and control. As far as I'm concerned Russian military targets over the Russian border should not be off limits. We are tying one of their arms behind their backs.

Their military still seems to be badly organised and its leadership is poor. Without Wagner and its willingness to throw men into the meat grinder I'm not sure they would have ever captured Bakmut. I think we could see collapses like we did at Kherson once the offensive kicks off.

Hmm, sounds like there's been a couple of explosions being attributed to drones in Moscow.

If true, its going to be hard to figure out whether this is partisans, Ukraine or Russia doing a false flag itself.

It wouldn't make logical sense for Ukraine to attack civilian targets in Moscow, given the undermining of support that would cause, when then are plenty of military targets behind the border they could go for. But then war can be seen as inherently illogical anyway.

The drones appear to be the uj-22, a Ukrainian made drone. They don't have a big payload, only 15kg but they have a range of 800km

There are reports of about 30 drones, not all were targeting central Moscow c drones have been filmed hitting targets in other areas of Russia

Well they did say a reprisal was coming though with the low-yield it's clearly just a message that Moscow will be getting reminders every time the Kremlin launches these ridiculous attacks against Kyiv which serves to further isolate Putin and forces Muscovites to confront their false reality. Not entirely sure it's wise but after a year of constraint I think a response like this is impossible to stop forever as if I were in the position of someone in Kyiv I'd probably be getting really frustrated at the lack of reprisal.

There's a slim chance it was someone else (hardly difficult to copy the drone) but I won't waste my time thinking about it.

If I had to make a slightly lukewarm take I might go as far as to say that this is an attempt to map out Putin's movements by forcing him to retreat into whatever holes he has so that partisans or convenient enemies can make moves whilst there's enough chaos to do so.

Does anyone honestly believe the Russians would have allowed 20 or so drones to fly all the way from Ukraine to Moscow without being intercepted long before they got to the target.
No, these drones are a false flag attack. It now gives Putin all the ammo he needs for full mobilisation.
