Bought a used car from a dealer, it's got a major issue.

3000 Miles, that's pretty ridiculous!

What was your usage like, short journeys?

I can do the changes myself for next to no cost, not sure I want to be doing it every 3 months mind you, that'd get old very fast.

Mixed usage really, but yes some short trips, 8,000 miles a year.

Bit of research & asking around groups suggets DPF related oil dilution is only really an issue in transversely mounted setups as it's situated differently when longitudinally mounted & runs hotter.

Having spoken to the place thad did the diagnostic for me, they say the only other major failure point is the turbo, but 9 times out of 10 any bits end up in the intercooler.

Thed did also tell me that the ad blue system can be a pain in the butt.

It's a shame they no longer have last keeper info on the V5, it was really handy when i bought my ST220 as i found him on Facebook and he was happy to have a chat about it.

Darn gdpr

So, got a call from JCT600 today, they have called the engineering company who looked at the car for me & had a discussion with them about the problem, what causes it & the symptoms etc.

They have agreed to pay for the work done in full & let the engineers do it as they don't have some of the Jaguar specific tools required to do the job in their network.

I know some of you said they would go refund, however having the revised chain setup fitted from the 2019 year onwards cars eliminates the biggest reliability flaw the car has & given it's loaded with options i'm not seeing on many other XE's like the heads up display & adaptive suspension and it's in the best wheel & colour combo in my opinion, i'm hanging on to it.

That's just over 1 working day from reporting the issue to the dealer to agreeing a resolution by my estimate, was not expecting that.

Can't go wrong with that if you're happy to keep the car.

Shame all dealers don't make it that simple.

Well done, Kia just told me that although they agree to the works I need to wait till 17th July as that's when they have a loan car free for 2 weeks, unless I book 2 seperate dates one to do the mechanical issues and 1 to rectify the paint‍♂️
