How much do you have to spend for a decent van (for a long term conversion) ?

ULEZ won't be an issue. I unless they go nation wide. Ie Rural.

Its actually amazing what you can get in one and still got 3.5T

I was thinking other ULEZ schemes outside of London.

Electric vans are heavy. Sprinter Minimum kerb weight 2769 kg.

Interested in why they went for windows?
Most I see are windowless. Especially on sides?
They got a mini bus for a price he couldn't say no to! Half the windows are now covered inside, the others have curtains, but all are tinted so you can't tell. He says the light it gives inside gives the van a nicer 'feel' - less like you're in a van.

Yeah it's something I need to look into (no pun intended).
I was keen on windows. But if the few I talked to they said no windows was better.

probably doesnt cause you problems but look into whether you would get complaints from folk about having a van on driveway street etc.
daughters property has covenant that restricts vans campers and caravans etc.
you dont need nosy nieghbours making complaints.

I think you'd be better off with a caravan for just 1 or a few nights a year. Less maintenance costs etc.

Sprinter/Crafter/Ducato if you want something that size.. Dont go for a Minibus, they can be a bit more difficult to convert.

Ducato is best of the bunch as wide enough to sleep width ways without adding the side pods

PM me if you want more info, im fairly local and its what I do for a business ;)

That's kind of opposite of what I'm after really. They are an absolute chore. Been on too many sucky caravan holidays as a kid. So restrictive in where you can go.

Main ones I see are VW, ford. Just the big vans. Often with a bed and some cupboard space.

I just want a bed and bike space. Maybe a couple if cupboards for stuff But mainly. Just the base van to start.

I bet trade is good! Seeing these conversions absolutely everywhere
