Looking to Antalya for a family holiday in October. Been doing lots of research and can't make my mind up as to where to stay. TripAdvisor has great in depth reviews but I get nervus when I read like 10 bad reviews out of say 4000 good ones.... I just don't want us to have the same experience those 10 people did.

Anyone recommend a resort where they have stayed themselves would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We stayed at the Trendy Lara in 2016 when it just opened. 2 adults, 2 kids. The room was on two floors, the kids slept downstairs and we had upstairs to ourselves. Fantastic hotel, quite quiet but the pool side could get noisy mid afternoon. Depends what you’re looking for I guess?

Yes thats on my list it looks really good. I'm also looking at ASKA Laura, Wyndham Garden Lara, Ramada Resort and Noxinn Deluxe.

I'm looking for a resort that offers nice all inclusive food, activities for adults and kids, entertainment and needs to be clean.

I stayed at Wyndham / Ramada last month, and didn’t particularly like it. The water is beyond freezing (perhaps all the Turkish resorts do this) meaning our young kids struggled to enjoy the water activities, the food was mediocre at best (you can only book to go to the on site restaurants once total per week, and we didn’t go due to having young kids). I got the impression it was one of the cheaper resorts on the stretch.

Thanks for your feedback I think I'll scratch that one off

We went to Aska Lara last September. Buffet food was good with plenty of selection. There was a restaurant on site but it was extra and we didn't bother. It isn't directly on the beach but runs a 2 minute shuttle bus all day down to a beach club thing. There are also a couple of pools on site.

It's a bit remote from the rest of Lara beach though, 10 minute walk out or so.

We didn't do any of the entertainment though but there were plenty of them, mostly at the beach club area.

Spa was nice. We had a few treatments.

Hotel was super clean. Rooms cleaned every day and fridge restocked daily too.

My fave is the Barut Lara followed by the Titanic Marden Palace
-Barut is very understated but total top quality, mainly Europeans, Scandinavians, Germans etc all but one of the a la cartes are included, no extra charge, excellent outdoor evening events (garden parties for both kids and adults), great water slides and pools too. Only premium alcohol and all FOC.
-Mardan palace is very bling and lots of Russians and eastern europeans, but still top quality - a la cartes are extra charge 25/50 euros per head) Huge main pool and lots of food and drink choices. Mainly premium alcohol but watch for whats extra charge as not all FOC.
Did the Concorde last Nov - really enjoyed it and good value, only criticisms were lounge bar was also used for the evening entertainment and it was quite poor, and due to this it was packed and boiling hot- also the only time I've has to wait more than a minute at a bar to get served. Yes, this is real first world problems but the bar just wasn't big enough for the number of people in the lounge, they couldn't physically fit any more staff behind there but just not that well organised or planned) Great drinks choice, good buffet food, enjoyed the a la cartes we tried (got 2 free with Jet2)

Looking at the Titanic Deluxe for next hol as had it on the list for a while and good value at mo relative to the others.

We stayed at Baia Lara for the missus 30th was decent enough and both food and drink were great

This was a few years back now and we saw temps mid 40s

I can recommend any of the resorts I've stayed at, Land of Legends, Delphin Imperial, Royal Wings, Sueno in Belek, Liberty Lara, Limak Lara.
All fantastic and ideal for families.

Decided on Aska Lara and glad I did, easily best holiday resort I've stayed at. It's the staff and food thats made that decision. Staff super friendly and always happy to help.

The food though...wow! Every meal it feels like I'm in a top restaurant in terms of quality, taste the full shabang!

Hotel Titanic on Lara was ok, as has been said the pools were absolutely freezing as they are in all the Turkish hotels I've been to. Food was ok but I got a bad dose of the runs on the last day which led to me almost passing out at the airport.

Below are not on Lara.

Royal Dragon was nice, my son was the one with the runs that time.....seeing a theme?

Royal Alhambra palace was pretty good, both myself and my son had the runs but the hotel was actually quite nice once we were given our correct room, the one they put us in had a great view of a wall. We went to this hotel 2 times as my kids loved it, the staff were great with them too. One of the staff wqas a bit of a *** though as all he wanted to talk about was ISIS, not really a holiday subject for me.

Honestly we enjoyed most of the Turkish places but be very wary of the food, I'm not normally one who gets upset stomachs but out of 4-5 trips there I was sick at least on 2 of them.....yes always bottled water even when brushing my teeth. It's pretty cheap and pretty cheerful for what you get, the hotels are really nice but I wouldn't go back again now the kids are grown up, it was perfect for us as a family of 5 though.

Aaaaaand now I just read the post above, glad you had a great time, how were the pools?

Is Antalya worth visiting in October half-term? Heard mixed views on it.

The temperature mid 20s? Sea warm enough to go into?

A lot of the pools don't seemed heated?
