Hi I have a Corsair CX-M Series CX550M 550W Semi-Modular PSU which I really dont want to change .
I am looking to spend up to £400 upgrading my graphics card, will the PSU handle a 3060ti/4060ti or a 6700XT ?

Thanks,

I would imagine so. Been doing a similar exercise. My Ryzen 7 5700x draws about 65w maximum (undervolted) and the 6700XT can also be undervolted. I imagine you could get away with 160w.

That leaves over 300w for MB, RAM, fans, drives etc. It will probably run over 70% power draw when gaming or rendering but so long as you don't try to push the 12400 ( which I don't think you can overclock anyway) or the GPU, you should be fine.

The large increase in recommended spikes is to take care of transients and that is an unknown factor

Thanks my 12400 is stock and the games I play are Warcraft , Diablo IV at the moment, looking at more graphically demanding games though ,

So in your opinion which card is less of a risk power wise ?

4060 Ti has the lowest power draw, but tbh, if it doesn't work with one card, it probably won't work with the other either. What's your current card? Chances are it already uses similar or more power.

You can get a 6700xt for £330

OCUK have the Sapphire for pre-order @ £300, stock due in two weeks.

I have a 970 at the moment

How do I find what power a card needs rather than manufacturers recommendations for minimum total power ?

What I do is read reviews like this and then confirm with YouTube videos like these:
