Vodafone broadband playing up - buy own router?

Had fibre installed over a week ago and connection been getting worse, no Internet for 2 days now

Engineer round this morning, check line all OK, right flashing lights etc

On and off to Vodafone call centre who won't do anything till 24 hrs after attempted fix

Noticed argos/amazon sell routers

Would one of these work in place of the Vodafone one?

Situation is a PiTA

I did this with EE as their router wasn't playing well with the new Huawei kit they'd installed in the cabinet. Make sure you can get your login details from Vodafone first.

This should really have been posted in the Networks & Internet Connectivity forum though.

Personally I would persist with Vodafone before buying my own kit. It could be a faulty line.

FTTC or FTTP?

My FTTC Vodafone router was garbage, always dropping out. Switched to a Draytek and problem was solved.

Full fibre as far as I know

Vodafone have said they'll send a replacement router, due to land tomorrow

We've no broadband connection and devices can't even see our service when looking at WiFi connections available

Switched it off and on more times than frankensteins defibrillator

Engineer came twice yesterday morning and it still doesn't work
