Should this memory be compatible with each other?

Feels like the laptop is slower not double the ram faster

Different memory usually works but can cause instability , you can boot into windows so what is the problem ?

Feeling slower in what way ?

Its no faster at all like I haven’t put anymore ram in?

I use it for music production so would expect it to run much faster with double the memory?

i presume its ssd or at least 720

Its a standard latitude 5580 2018 windows 10 pro

I’m using it with software that XP could run

The reason I ask about hard drive because increasing ram if you have a mechanical hard drive sometimes make no difference because the drive is slow.

It depends on the specific tasks you're doing, but, if I talk really generally then:

Unless whatever you're doing, is actually running out of memory, then you will see no noticeable improvement whatsoever.

You need to know (for your music production): which part of my computer, is the bottleneck? If your RAM is not running out, then RAM is probably not your bottleneck. One way of finding out, is to open and observe task manager (performance tab), while you work.
