Just what is NVIDIA up to?

what if the reason rdna4 won't have any high end GPUs is because AMD wants to save the best wafers for AI products and because Nvidia is planing to do the same
Lets face it, the only reason RDNA3 can be considered high end is because Nvidia downgraded all their cards, had a 4080 released as a 4070 for $600 with a 4080 built on an AD102 for $800 then RDNA3 would have been in serious trouble.

I'm sure that Jensen and Lisa probably sat down at some point prior to launch and said look, RDNA3 isn't going to be able to compete, can you help? Jensen obliges and makes RDNA3 more reasonable to keep in competition so to speak.

HUB have been very critical of Nvidia for most of their ADA GPU reviews, only the 4070 was more positive than it should have been but it think its because it had the 12gb VRAM but even then it wasn't a "good" review but rather ok.

They have but its quite performative, not where it really matters.

Difference in tone.

RTX 4080 review key words:
Mixed feelings
A very impressive product
While i absolutely love the performance and features its hard to get too excited when i know you guys have to stump up the $1200 asking price (can't even bring himself to say its over priced)
The 4080 would have been "Excellent Value" at $900 (still not)

7900XT review key words:
There is no reason to buy the 7900XT, it needs to be at least $200 less than the XTX.
It would have been something we could have recommended at $800, as it is you might as well just get the 4080 with superior RT and DLSS. (LOL)
The only advantage the 7900XT has is 20GB VRam, but honestly the 16GB on the 4080 is more than enough (really trying to sell that £1200 4080 here)
I have been so disappointed with the 7900XT that i have requested all AIB's refrain from sending me theirs as i have no interest in covering them (wow)
And with that i'm done with this review.

Both are letting each other off the hook instead of either going for the kill, all very suspicious

The store I use for my pc parts has stopped ordering in new RX7000 stock and they are removing product listings when each model is completely out of stock.

Their reasoning for this is a lack of sales; they claim it's not worth it for them to keep stocking RX7000 GPUs because they just aren't selling fast enough to justify the cost. The store is still selling some RX6000 GPUs as they are more popular than RX7000

You obviously in team red so nothing is gonna be good enough to slate Nvidia

You might enjoy this one

That doesn't even make any sense, i've been exclusively Nvidia for the best part of a decade.

I've got $500, which card should i buy?

This is Nvidia we are talking about being all consumer focused and stuff? Are you feeling Ok?

7900XTX is 85% the performance of the 4090 at 56% of the price.
7900XT is 85% the performance of the 4080 at 68% of the price.

I don't care for 4090 and never have for halo products

Neither are offering me anything to upgrade from 3080 for £700-£750 ideally I'd want 4080/xtx kind of uplift from it , yes AMD are closer but still not good enough, being lesser evil isn't gonna make me suddenly praise them

That’s a reasonable expectation and while I feel (obviously) a bit lower threshold for giving in.

If you're going to behave like a child by calling me an AMD fanboy at least tell me which Nvidia GPU should i buy?

If you can't do that with a straight face then you know the problem i'm talking about. So which GPU?

But he has a point though. Nvidia for example pushed their RTX3050 and RTX3060 replacements up two tiers. If they had "only" pushed it up one tier it would be:
1.)RTX4060(current RTX4060TI)=RX7700XT at £300
2.)RTX4060TI(current RTX4070) =RX7800XT at £400
3.)RTX4070(current RTX4070TI) = RX7900XT at £500

The current "RTX4080" would be under £800.

You can see that with AMD rebadging the true RX7700XT as the RX7800XT,like Nvidia rebadged the RTX3060/RTX3060TI replacement as the RTX4070.

Maybe it will finally dawn on people after Turing/RDNA1,the Pandemic and now this generation, these companies don't really care about gamers.

None of them. The RTX4070 at best should be a £400 RTX3060TI. It offers slightly more of a performance increase the RTX3060TI did over the RTX2060 Super but both were under £400. Nvidia added a £200 tax this time. Even if the RX7800XT matches the RTX4070 for slightly less with more VRAM,its another case of paying £100s more for a generational improvement.

Essentially this whole generation is Turing V1 all over again. They are pushing lower power consumption and "value added features" as the selling points.

So if you are really wanting a proper price for price improvement, you will have to look at an older generation card on clearance,or the secondhand market.

But also realise you will get less years of support too,and also less access for newer features(FSR3 probably will need RDNA3 machine learning improvements).

Ask OcuK if they'd let this go for £500.

It's in B Grade and brand new OcuK selling them for £699 so it's possible they'll let it go at £500-£600 or thereabouts.

Think the guys name is Rob that you have to email.

You've been using Nvidia for far too long. :D

If say I had 20 series/ 3060ti and was struggling 7900xt would be the one , would I feel great no because I feel I should be getting 4080/xtx kind of performance for around that price but it's currently the best from the crap we have this generation

I have a 2070S, you're suggesting the 3060Ti?
