Yesterday we took delivery of a new Dual Fuel range cooker Beko KDVF100, this replaced a 20 year old Stoves New Home Range Cooker. The reason that we went for this model is that it had 2 fan ovens where most have one fan and one conventional oven.

Have noticed -

*The exterior of oven doors get so hot you cant even touch them.

*Takes 20 minutes to get to 200 degrees and even then the thermostat light pops on and off occasionally. (Oven door closed all the time to test).

*Cooling fan only seems to kick in on one of the ovens (bottom left). I would expect this to happen on both? (nothing mentioned in instructions about cooling fans, previously oven didn't have a cooling fan)

Does this sound normal? I am so use to nursing my antique old oven I am unsure.

Cheers

Regs used to be 80oC over ambient, think it's 60 now but that is still hot to touch.

The light is only an indicator that the element is being energised not that it's got to temp, it will cycle on and off throughout cooking.

Cooling fan probably has a fan initiation stat and depending on where it's located will depend on when it powers up, I would hazard a guess it blows near the timer unit and knobs.

Thank you that is great information. So it probably all fine. Previous oven was just guess when it at temp and stick the food in. The door heat did concern me though with small kids around. Might see if I can get hold of a temp gun just for my only knowledge.

yeah I get the kids bit, from manufactures point of view they will refer to user manual which will state children shouldn't be left unattended. For testing temp of door you will want a surface temp tester rather than a gun type if door is glass.
