I saw a stat on SkySports today that total number of goals his mistakes lead to (directly), for the entire time at United...2.

Just 2.

The stats doesn't say how many saves DDG made to get him out of that hole however, but it does seem like at one point every game he played he makes at least a mistake and at this level, that is 1 too many.

these days they are in the queue with a stick to join the beatings.
Granted it’s only one incident I can think of but there was a period in the early 00’s (maybe 02/03 season?) when some utd fans took to booing Giggs following a few iffy performances - considering what he had already done at the club I personally found it to be bang out of order, my belief at the time being he had built up enough ‘credit’ that he should be allowed a dip and given time to recover form, while others were screaming for him to be binned off. actually managed to get myself into several heated but friendly ‘debates’ down the local with fellow UTD supporters over the head of it, like a fool  I only mention it to highlight fans have always been a fickle bunch.

Didn't he score about 5 own-goals? Admittedly, I'm not sure there was much he could do about some of them. Suppose it depends on how they're defining a mistake

That is rubbish. I can think of him getting turned inside out against Spurs and playing the whole Everton team onside so they could equalise 3:3 with the last kick of the game. That is just two off the top of my head.

Even the thumbnail says DDG mistake when it was all slabhead getting done like a kipper.

Everyone playing the high line but slabhead thinks otherwise and gifts a goal to Everton with the last kick of the game. That was the season we finished second too iirc.

You can have no speed but good brain like John Terry but Maguire has no speed and no spacial awareness so is just a lost cause. Everyone was in denial because of the price tag but he is partially responsible for Ole's downfall imo.

I thought it was suspect, but you tell that to SkySports!

3 days until they reveal their decision, wonder if they're hoping it will get missed in the media coverage of the opening weekend.

Can't argue with the statement. It will be a huge mistake if they integrate him back in.

It will definitely not be missed in the media, if they do.

I couldn't agree more, I said when all this happened that I didn't want him anywhere near the squad and I maintain that view, even if the prosecution couldn't take it to court successfully.

People will try and excuse him because he couldn't be found guilty, but that's a weak argument in my view. In the history of domestic abuse, you often find women vulnerable to staying in abusive relationships. If I were in Greenwood's shoes and my partner lied about abuse in order to ruin my career, why would you go back with her? That's why I'm of the opinion the abuse happened and she's decided to stay with him. I don't know this girls background but I would assume her, and her family's bread is buttered by staying with a professional footballer.

Unfortunately MUFC is a big business in for the money, we all know what big businesses do. Greenwood, if he gets back to his quality before all this happened, is an easy £100m asset. I have no idea on how many fans are female or how many male fans are against him coming back, but if they boycott Man utd if greenwood comes back, they will just as easily fill the seats that they left empty.

Sad situation.

you mean over the rape allegations?

Yes, he was also charged in the US was he not?

I think the reality of football is that these things can be forgotten by people quite easily. I have seen people who were delighted Ronaldo returned, saying they don't want Greenwood anywhere near the club ever again.

Obviously in both cases there is some ambiguity.

to be honest I didn't even know about the Ronaldo rape thing until all this Greenwood stuff came out. I have said it before, non-one outside of this case knows all the details regardless of the courts outcome/lack of evidence etc.
Whatever happens, the stadium will be full, shirts will still sell, players will still play (womans team, not so sure) and it will all blow over in a few months of his return, if he does return.

Decision delayed as they apparently want to get some of the Lionesses' opinion on the matter. Cynic in me thinks they need more time to find a way for him to remain.

Why on earth do they need the Lionesses' opinion? Sorry, need to wait for my Nan to get back from Co-Op to ask her if punching OAPs in the face is wrong. Embarrassing - there's literally one morally correct choice here...

Only option I can see is send him out on a year loan. See if he’s still got what it takes and see what the fan reaction to him is. There’s no way he plays for us this season imo.

After the statement today, they need to be ‘seen’ to be doing these things, I suppose. It’s all an embarrassing farce.

This screams to me like they've decided to integrate him back in, and they're wanting to see how upset the women's team will be.
