I have a feature wall to paint that I don't want to stray onto another wall. But frog tape seems to be pulling off the paint on the joining wall.

This has happened before, and I've just used one of those plastic tools you push into the wall to create an edge.

However this wall is 8-9ft above the stairs so is really difficult to get to.

I've thought about using a ladder on the stairs but is there any other better solutions? May not be. The ladder would also be leaning against a plasterboard wall. It will be difficult not to mark it.

I'm hindsight, I'd have painted the feature all first

Isn't that one of the selling points of Frogtape? :p

I have used the most sensitive low tack masking tape that the trade paint place sells, left it on for only a few minutes whilst I cut in, and it still pulled off the paint. I don't bother now, I just very careful cutting in.

I like this tape over frog tape, but as you say if the surface isn't well bonded or fresh tape then it can still peel.
