Very ambiguous what occurred

Mason: Move your ******* legs up!

Harriet: No! I don't want to have sex!

M: I don't give a **** what you want, you little ****.

H: Mason!

M: Shut up. Stop talking to me. Stop!

H: Stop putting your dick near me.

M: I'm going to **** you, you ****!

H: I don't want to have sex with you!

M: I don't care if you don't want ******* sex with me, do you hear me?

H: Why do you have to do this, though?

M: Cause I asked you politely and you wouldn't do it!

H: (Inaudible. Something about sex with other people?)

M: I asked you politely and you wouldn't do it so what else do you want me to do?

H: Then go and **** someone else.

M: I don't want to **** someone else!

H: You do.

M: No I don't.

M: Push me again one more time and watch what happens to you.

H: No.

M: Well, you will actually

When did it happen again? 3 years ago? UTD should just play him, the fans are going to have to get over it i suppose. He'll have some nasty chants sung when in rival stadiums, pretty standard. But how long should he pay for what happened, 3 years? 5? never play again?

Some people would prefer he never plays again, at any level.

It's a very unusual and unpleasant situation, but the club statement reads to me like they are lining up mitigating factors:

- This has drawn on extensive evidence and context not in the public domain, and we have heard from numerous people with direct involvement or knowledge of the case.

So they are suggesting there is some context that would mitigate or explain his actions somewhat. Maybe there is, we don't know. Of course, nothing would ever justify it.

- We also have responsibilities to Mason as an employee, as a young person who has been with the club since the age of seven, and as a new father with a partner.

They will clearly try and argue he's had a difficult upbringing and has been mentally troubled, which has led to this happening.

The statement is really laying the groundwork for his reintegration in the squad, they could have just said very little, it's quite lengthy.

I'm sure they will be carefully monitoring social media tonight. I wouldn't say it will definitely happen, if the Man Utd women's team came out in objection that would make it almost impossible.

All fans, pundits, journo's etc are going to be brutal. I'm not sure how he will be able to handle it.

Ozzy Osbourne tried to strangle his wife to death yet everyone loves him now. Plenty of people do bad things but does that mean they should not be forgiven?

Stan Collymore and Gazza were both wife beaters. George best has a statue outside the stadium and he knew how to use the back of his hand very well.

Part of the issue with this is that its much more real than just hearing that X did Y. The recording makes a massive difference in how emotive it is and not just because its very hard to deny. If there was no recording this would have already been swept under the rug and he would be playing already.

Also you can have some form of redemption when you admit your wrong doing and state you are actively getting help, that you need to learn and change. Then he should get another chance, but not at United or any other premiership team right now.

People will quickly forget when he is getting 15-20 goals a season. Presuming he picks up how he left off. Sad thing is he easily has the potential to be England's most naturally gifted player.

I just hope he has the correct people around him that can set him on the straight and narrow.

Slippy G has been gone 10 years and I still hear.

Steve Gerrard, Gerrard,
He hits kids in cars,
He smashes djs wih bars,
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard...
Other than from yourself, I've never heard that song however we can safely say the level of abuse Greenwood will receive will be considerably worse and he'll get it every week from every side Utd face.

Need a few just stop oil type protests if he’s ever integrated back into the team. If that kind of ‘evidence’ came out against our ‘accused’ player I’d want the same.

Rachel Riley says she’ll stop supporting the club if he plays again…
