RIP Michael Parkinson

Obviously filmed way before my time but I always like to go back and watch his interview with Muhammad Ali

RIP imagine what the BBC could be like today if they had a Saturday Night Interview/show, of the same peerless quality.

I never really appreciated how good he was when I was younger, but as I got older and saw more of his shows, especially the classic ones the more I appreciated him, especially with the likes of the themed ones that the BBC have been putting on BBC4 to run the same night as films or shows that he had a guest from.

I don't think I've seen any other chat show host in the UK who had quite the same quality as him, as he didn't need to rely on a gimmick to get a good interview.

The BBC of today wouldn't even be hiring the likes of Parkinson today, doesn't tick any woke boxes.

I don't normally join in these but he was awesome, as said in the tributes he was genuinely interested in the people he interviewed and made them and us the audience feel at ease, just came across as a great human being, sad loss
