Me and the missus have a week or so to burn on our holibobs, neither of us are beach bums but a week or so somewhere that has a nice tree or so to shade under. okay food that doesn't cost too much would be ideal. I reckon somewhere in the Canaries.

Canaries or Turkey would be a good shout. Think the temps are still mid 20's in both areas around those months.

I've never tried Turkey at that time of the year, but can vouch for any of the Canaries.
We have been to all at that time of the year and its always been very pleasant indeed.

Turkey ? like the other thread - the big political protests against erdogen in last month all over the the tv , the siding with Putin
... every time I see a tv advert for discover Turkey, don't those run through everyones minds, and why there isn't a govt health warning attached.
Egypt still trying to re-establish a tourist trade too.

If you don't want beach - Corsica is nice ? - you can walk (or climb as we did) in the magnificent bavellas.

Will see if we can get a cheap deal in one of the Canaries. My old man retired in Cyprus but we are having a not talking to each other period atm.

Crete, Rhodes, Cyprus, Turkey, Canaries (assuming short haul)
If you want to go long haul then the world's your oyster really.

Avoid half-term dates or you will find the above destinations anything but cheap.

Cyprus, Malta, Turkey, Morocco or Canaries.

I usually go to the Canaries during December and it's hot enough to relax on the beach. You get warmer temps during the times you want to go.
