Putin: What is the plan to deal with this Nazi superweapon?
Shoigu: Don't worry boss, they're useless in the rain, once the summer ends they will be of no threat and we will have taken Kiev long before next summer!
Putin: Excellent, all going to plan.
Gerasimov: Guys I just read on twi- I mean X that Elon Musk is sending A0 size laminators to Ukraine.
Putin: Mother of god....

Some spray on yacht varnish would be just as good

Its going to take a couple of generations for Ukrainians to forgive Russia for this.
That will only happen if Russia accepts responsibility for it's actions and apologises which will likely never happen (your talking about a nation made up of people who think the whole Slavic world belongs to Russia). For that to happen you would need Russia to be completely conquered and occupied like German was at the end of WW2.

I take it there used for more of distraction not much of a payload.

As a few have mentioned, it's got a 3-5kg payload and, to put that into context, thats the equivalent of a single 81MM HE Mortar round (4kg) with a shrapnel "kill" radius of over 35m - so yeah, 3-5kg is a hell of a payload equivalent to drop on something unarmoured like a plane or lightly armoured like a SAM site radar/launcher/CP.

Also, depending on the type of payload they choose, that weight range could also cover a large shaped charge warhead - say an PG-7VR type from an RPG-7 (able to punch through 750mm of armour) - which would be able to take out every type of modern tank too when dropped from above meaning no vehicle would be safe for it.

So definitely less of a distraction and yet another "oh crap, how do we defend against this??????" moment for Russia to add to the growing list. The weakness, as with all these drones, is the requirement for them to send/receive signals for aiming and its there that the Russians and the EW jamming vehicles have their only advantage.

What do you mean? The US Navy has 17 Ticonderoga Class (CG) Guided-Missile Cruisers, they aren't Guided-Missile Destroyers.

As Rroff mentioned, the poster was referring to there only being 1 Tico CG attached to this carrier group rather than the number of Ticos in total, and that the rest of the carrier group contained Flight 2 Arleigh Burkes which is the DDG they mentioned. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Whilst its most definitely going to take a long time for these wounds to heal, eventually forgiveness may be possible. They most definitely wont forget though.

Considering how much pain Germany caused in the first half of last century, they are generally well respected these days.

Read the bolded part: they will not forgive.

Not for any number of generations.
You're entitled to your opinion, however it's factually incorrect. This isn't the first time a European nation has gone on a rampage, hell it's not even the first time in the last century. They will be friends again one day, however it won't come until the majority of Ukrainian have no memory of today.

Seeing reports that some NATO commanders are growing frustrated that Ukraine aren't paying much attention to their recommendations/advice RE the counteroffensive.

Lol, if Ukraine had followed their advice and abandoned Bakhmut then their counteroffensive would currently be stalled against a well dug in Wagner force backed up by masses of Russian reserves with plenty of ammo supplied by Prigozhin's best buddy Vlad.

The NATO advisers have been pretty much consistently wrong since day one, they need to learn to just provide weapons and shut up, when Ukraine need to hear from people with experience in bombing mud huts they can ask for it xD

I think Ukraine have the knowledge now to far surpass NATO calling the shots, they have incredible amount of experience anyway that will shape wars for years to come.

Like Poland have forgiven Russia?

Forgiveness takes time.

My grandad fought in both WW1 and WW2. He hated Germans, wouldn't speak to them.

His son (my dad) didn't really like Germany, would never choose to go on holiday there, but would take a German individual at face value as long as they were young enough not to have fought.

Me, no problems with Germany at all. Spent time there working, had some great experiences.

It takes time.

Germany changed, Russia won't.

I still find it comical how they disbanded 39RA, then spent the next 8-9 years trying to un-**** the mess when they realised their big plan didnt work. Deep Precision fires is so vital in the modern age. Saying that, I think they are on the right path now with 1DRS
Absolute stupidity, every single one of us in 39 said it was a massive mistake, they were sure they could integrate depth fire with guns, boy were they wrong
