Hi guys just wondering if anyone could help I'm currently running this system I bought in 2019..

AMD Ryzen 7 2700x
Asus ROG Strix X370-F Motherboard (AM4)
Asus Radeon ROG strix 5700XT OC 8gb Card
16GB Teamgroup DDR4 3200MHZ (2x8gb)
Corsair CX-M 650Watt Bronze power supply
Samsung 970 250GB M.2 Solid state
480gb Solid State Drive
Be quiet Dark base pro 900 Full tower case
AGON 27" curved 144HZ monitor

I was looking at a new GPU or a new build, but i'll be honest I don't want to drop another 1.5k-2k in this thing just yet.. I still hear the 5700xt is decent would I be better just upgrading to a high end 5000 series processor and swapping my two 8Gb ram cards for two 16GB's? Any advice or opinions would be great!

What are you trying to achieve? E.g. is there a game you can't play right now?

5700 XT is on a similar level to a 6600 XT, which if your monitor is 1440p is getting a bit dated now (at least, for the latest games), but still decent for a year or two yet.

If you went for a big GPU upgrade, like a 7900 XT, alongside a 5700X and 32GB of RAM, then you'd be spending the best part of 1K, which I assume you're trying to avoid.

Just to keep up with some of the newer titles that's all, to be honest I'm not so fussed about playing 1440p at the best frames for now or i can play 1080p at high, Might just juice it up with a new CPU. thanks mate

5800x3D will work with that mobo with the latest BIOS
Upgrade GPU to whatever you feel is appropriate
Keep all other items
Thanks man, yeah I think I might upgrade to that then just upgrade GPU more later down the line. thanks for you help

5800x is the way to go!

A 3070 would be a good buy I think! Get them cheap second hand and pack a punch still !

Thanks for all the suggestions and information people, I think I'm just going to upgrade to a 5800x and put another 16gb Ram in for now, I'll do a bigger upgrade in a couple year with a new Gpu, Mobo and power supply etc then

My system was very similar to yours (5700 XT, O/Cd Ryzen 2700 non-X, 16 GB DDR4).

Upgraded to a 7900 XT, Ryzen 5700X, and topped up the RAM to 32 GB. It's been a phenomenal altogether upgrade.

My monitors are tad different - I was going for UW1440P @ 100 Hz and 4K60.

For a while I just had the 5700 XT paired with the new Ryzen 5700X, and the difference was extremely underwhelming at the resolutions I was trying to drive. Once I got the 7900 XT the whole system started flying in games.

I'm glad I didn't go with a 5800X3D and saved well over a ton getting a 5700X that I could put toward the GPU.
