PAX wardrobes and skirting board

Thanks so what's your plan? Trim/filler piece?
In this instance it was just a temporary/easy fix to stop it toppling and avoiding the skirting issue. If I wanted it permanent, I'd just rip down a piece of word and hot glue it in place against some noggins I think.

You can't really do 3) with Pax because there's no void at the back. You could get away with it if you had something about the height of Scotia but any skirting over a few cm and your going to be out of luck.

I have a 3 metre run of Pax units in each bedroom; luckily the wall is approx 3.2 metres so you can barely even see down the sides, so I could safely ignore the gap issue!

Edit: 3 meters of Pax, shelved and full, doesn't move, so I didn't fix it to the wall at all. It's going nowhere.

That's so silly, no matter how un likely. People have died.

If you can come round and tip these over then I'll buy you dinner. You'd need several strong blokes to get them to tip (plus, they would jam against the ceiling before they could lean more than about 20 degrees)

Maybe in a severe earthquake? In which case I've bigger concerns than avoiding falling wardrobes.

During spring clean we often have several drawers open and varying levels of full/laid on the bed/re-stocking.

You do you but its two screws to anchor it.

If you have the full height pax, they can’t fall over in most houses. There simply isn’t the ceiling height, they hit the ceiling before coming close to falling over. You have to build them standing up in place.

Haha yep, know a few people that have built them thinking they will fit based on ceiling height but hadn't accounted for the longer diagonal height when trying to lift them up from the floor.

Got PAX units in one of the bedrooms, went with option one, removing skirting board.

We have had our PAX designed wardrobe since 2018. No need to mount it at all as it is solid and impossible to fall down as when you spec up a big unit it is bloody heavy! My son can attest to it because he loves to try and climb up it with the shelves inside.

Missus just uses a really long duster to get down the sides.

One thing I can advise is to get the pull out laundry baskets. Just dump your dirty clothes in then when full take the bag downstairs and it is just the right size for a full laundry.

I would recommend going with the first option. There's nothing wrong with cutting your skirting board because you can always put it back later. So painting skirting boards are also relatively simple if you know what you're doing. It's a manageable DIY task that can enhance the overall look of your room.
