need a new internet provider as I'm being discontinued/cut off (see my other relevant thread for details)

so i need internet asap, don't want to pay lots for one, but good speeds, I'm happy with 80Mb+

how do i find out what speeds i can get here ?

if you believe in "gaming" provider, let's talk - I have nice island called United Kingdom to sell..

EDIT:
and seriously speaking - dont know about your issue, but gather fibre to the premise is not an option..?

Samknows.co.uk will tell you who serve you, amazed a FTTP provider hasn't been to your door. They're everywhere!

This will be pretty accurate, it's the same data ISPs use to determine what speeds they'll be able to offer you.
Just bear in mind that "FTTP on Demand" doesn't necessarily mean you can get FTTP to your property without huge setup fees, but there's a chance.
I also like using https://order.faelix.net/product/broadband/ as a nicer interface with transparent pricing.

As far as providers go:

Note: I think there might be an issue with the database lookups at the moment.

Http://bidb.uk will show you any FTTP current or planned availability. Along with mobile coverage from all major networks.

There's no particular ISP to go with for gaming, just check what sort of connection it is first. It'll depend if you prioritise speed (good for downloading large games) or latency (good for online games). FTTP will be best for both, extremely high speeds and very low latency. Virgin's cable offers high speeds too but latency isn't always best with them, especially if you're in an area with a lot of VM users which can suffer from congestion in peak times. FTTC while not as fast as cable, speeds can still be decent especially if you have GFast available (up to 330mb), but even with slower VDSL (up to 80mb), latency is generally still better than cable.

Swish will be full fat fibre and symmetrical speeds. Or you can go with the others that are FTTC, asymmetrical and your speeds could be way off what it quoted.

Personally I'd go with Swish.

The top of that Swish screenshot shows it's not yet ready and to register for info. Looks like VDSL FTTC is available at least, and judging from what you're being quoted, you're fairly close to the cabinet. Just pick whatever ISP you prefer in that case, speeds will be similar as they all rely on Openreach's network, it all matters on price and the customer support they have, if you do end up needing to contact them.

I think it is ready, I think you can get more information that's all

I checked open reach (BT) and they offer free upgrade to full fiber when it becomes available

If you look at my other screen shot, says Swish full fiber is available

From my own experience with pings,

From best to worst, fttp vodafone/cityfibre i get 8-12ms to a uk server, fttc zen/openreach internet i got 20-23ms to a uk server and last virgin media cable 30-40ms ping to a uk server again.
