Hi all,

I switched a 7W (60W equiv) LED light (warm white) to an 11W (100W equiv) one. Its still dark.

What do I need to do to get sunlight levels of brightness in here?

My home office is in the small back bedroom. There is window but facing north. The main bedroom faces south and is currently bathed in a lovely bright autumn sun. I want that type of light all over.

Move office into the main bedroom, simples.

It's pretty tough to replicate the sun.

Could try a few lamps, the aim them upwards with a very warm white bulb, which will bath the room in warm light.

Can anyone link to any actual products? I need to flood the room with light somehow, that looks similar to the brightness you get on a sunny day, a lamp is not going to cut it.

For what purpose? Just want the light?

Sunlight is very different to lightbulbs.

If you want a nice glow, go for ~4000k lights and multiple ones.

Definitely want diffused lighting too.

Are you asking us to spec you desk side lamp or over head lighting in the ceiling? Pics of room and ceiling? What bulbs do you current have in terms of type/fitting/power?

I dont know what I need, hence reason for post.

Im in a 2m x 1.5m upstairs room facing north with a window that is 0.8m wide and 1m tall.

There is one light source at the ceiling fitting with an 11W (100W equiv) LED bulb, Philips warm white 1500 lumens.

It doesn't just feel dark in here, it feels colder too, even though it isnt cold in temperature terms. There is no warm feeling in here because there is no warmth coming from the lighting.

You'll need a couple of 1500 lumen 5600k lightbulbs. The colour temperature is important.
Thanks.

Why is it that the sunshine is yellowy, but warm white bulbs (which are yellowy) don't have the same effect?

I have daylight LED bulbs in my kitchen, they are brighter but still not a warm sunshine feeling.

The bedroom that gets the sun, when you walk in you just feel the warmth and saturation in there. In the office its cold, sterile.

So do you have a single bayonet type Philips bulb hanging in a ceiling rose with a light shade?

Seen that before. It looked reasonable until you watch the video and realise he built the whole thing into a doorway opening and its massive.

This must be a common issue, obviously building a big parabolic mirror or cutting into my roof is out of the question. I just need some more appropriate lighting that can flood the room with warming saturated light - but what is it specifically that I need to buy. There isn't much floor space in here for lamps, and whatever I get would need to be diffused as mentioned by a posted earlier so it doesn't blind me when using the computer.
