Anyone got experience of this?
Most companies seem to charge but what if there's some decent stuff, bed frames, solid wood nice furniture, very good condition 3 piece suite etc?

I just don't have the time to try and ebay it all and it's bulky stuff..?

Well it would be your loss if you can not be bothered to deal with stuff that's in good condition

Try Facebook, war on waste group, free to collect

My parents used this kind of thing on my grandparents place, but they first had an antiques/auction house come and take a look, found a few things worth taking away to auction that way (nothing that exciting sadly but they had collected a bunch of random things over the years).

After that was done, they let the rest go to clearance people for the ease of just getting stuff gone.

That's pretty much what it'll come down to. Either you sort through some of it and sell the most valuable parts, or these companies take a chance and make some extra money.

British Heart Foundation will take good cush, and then offer you a share of the sale price should you wish to take it. My mum was offered about 400 quid for her leather suite she donated.

In our area there are a few "Too good to Waste" / "Too good to throw" type charities that help a lot with house clearnances. They don't take everything but do tend to take large, bulky, older items. Not always mattresses and heavily used bits but certainly wardrobes, dressers etc. I've recently helped with this for a relative.

Other than that, facebook, gumtree etc as already said - it can take a bit more time. Gumtree takes 2 minutes though. If you price free/very low then the take-up is normally quite quick.

You could contact a local auction house, they might come and remove a lot of stuff and sell it through auction minus their commission, especually furniture, garden equipment and tools.

There are companies that will do it for free as long as you let them keep the more valuable stuff, so they can sell it.

It seems a shame, but really there isn't much alternative. Selling is just too difficult for the average person because the buyer wants delivery. They can no more collect it than you can deliver it.
