I have four bulbs, two currently plugged in and in use whilst we finish our renovations. They’re both in schedules through Google Home and have worked fine for a number of years.

Yesterday evening neither of them came on as per the schedule. Saying offline in the Google Home app and the Xiaomi app. Turned them on and off, my other half even reset the router
Tried re-adding them through the Xiaomi app but I get to the stage where I’m connected to the bulbs Wi-Fi, but the bulb just fails to connect to my home Wi-Fi. I’m on the 2.4ghz network (5ghz not supported) and definitely putting the credentials in correctly. But no dice. Keeps saying either “move device closer to router” or “move phone closer to device” and obviously neither helps..

Also checked for firmware updates, app updates.. nothing. They still light up when switched on manually. What on earth is going on?

All four awol then ?

did you reset them - seems yeeligh&xiaomi are one in the same https://www.dignited.com/97748/how-to-setup-yeelight-led-bulb/
  • If you’re not setting up the bulb for the very first time, reset it first. To reset your light, switch it on and off 5 times until the light blinks.
Yeah. That’s what I’ve done multiple times. Interestingly getting the same thing when I tried to add bulb not currently in use. It’s like it’s a network issue but we’ve not changed anything
Buy cheap, buy twice!
To be fair they’ve lasted a good 4-5 years and have been very reliable. More reliable than the Google speakers which are also currently acting up. Maybe something has gone wonky with my internet/Wi-Fi.. I don’t understand what though

I just tried re-adding one bulb and got the error “connecting to network timed out”
