I need some advice on tyres for my DC2. Currently I'm running Hankook RS2 205/50/15 on the stock 15" wheels. I ran these tyres all year round, and even did the occasional track day, thought the RS2 was amazing but it's now long discontinued. I want to keep the 205/50/15 size on my stock wheels. I have a short list that follows.

Yokohama V701 Advan Fleva
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 K120
Hankook Ventus Prime 3 K125
Yokohama AD08RS
Toyo Proxes TR1

Does anyone here run AD08RS's all year round? The Toyo Proxes sidewalls might to be soft and diminish steering response. I'm thinking of either the Yokohama V701, or the Hankook V12 Evo 2. Any other thoughts or suggestions.

I have Yokohama v105s on my Elise, which is the OEM for them currently. They are very slightly softer feeling but WAY quieter. They have been good so far. The AD08RS aren't as good as the old AD08, but apparently are still ok.

EU nonsense means the really sticky road tyre compounds are either no longer road legal (does anyone actually check the markings in the UK?), or hard to find :(

So that explains why the AD08RS is not as sticky as original then.

Hankook released the RS3 that was apparently very good (and in my size) but the EU stopped it coming to UK.

Can't we make our own tyre regs now? :o

Whelp none of those tyres review well for all around use - the Ventus Prime seem to be "adequate" - almost all of them a lot of people complain about the sidewall being too soft.

The Integra DC2 is quite sensitive to tyre flex. When I first owned my DC2 I ran the stock bridgestone that was very stiff, the car would tramline and move left / right over poor roads. I moved to the Hankook RS2 when the stock bridgestone was discontinued as it suited the car. I knew someone who owned a DC2 and fitted Toyo's and ended up selling his DC2 as the Toyo's messed the handling up so much, said the handing response went to mush.

Got the AD08Rs on, first reaction very responsive tyre, My DC2 driving very well on these, this is coming from Hankook RS2 that was also a road legal summer/track day tyre that I thought was excellent until I the Yoko's just went on.

Thanks for the update. I saw you post originally on the FB group. Did you go for 50 or 55 profile?

I'm in the same position as you with RS2 that need replacing. The RS4 are available, but more track focused.

There's the Zestino Gredge 07R that seem to get good write ups, but hey again track based.

A052 are too expensive and soft for mainly fast road use.

I'm adverse to trying the PS3 as it's an older tyre and probably squishy.

I want Yokohama to bring the AD09 over in 15", but they only seem to do above 17" currently, even though the release literature ages ago said they're coming in 15". Maybe they've reassessed the market as everyone has 17-22' now.

Seems weird as they were originally made for lightweight cars and are soft, also for some track use where smaller wheels are preferred (for performance and cost reasons). Most cars with large wheels are heavy :/

Hi, I went 205/50/15 same as I had previous on RS2.

I've only just got them on, I have under 5 miles on them. There appears loads of forward grip in the wet, steering response is like I've had a suspension or sports damper upgrade, steering is lighter and more responsive - remember thats after the RS2 that was already better than most summer road tyres.

Ride quality is fine, they are firm but in a good way, there still softer then the 195/55/15 Potenza 010's that came as stock all those years ago. Easy to drive on, they don't tramline or wonder. Will know more when they are run in more, but so far really happy I went with them.

Can you not get the Advan AD09 in this size? The AD08RS is almost universally hated.

I never found the AD09's in my size, plus they will be overkill for a road tyre.

They only hate the AD08RS as it's less grippy then the original AD08R, that said my short experience so far AD08RS is plenty for on the road. The steering response on my Integra DC2 is best it's ever been.

Hopefully the AD08RS has better winter grip compared to the AD08R's. I used to run them on my mx5 and and at even the hint of sleet/snow it was dicey!

I'm hoping we get the full size lineup of the AD09s over here. So far the European line up is very limited compared to other markets

Dale, I'm hoping these are more suitable for road use over the previous ones, read some comments warm up is less on these, but thanks for the tip, I will be going very careful come winter.

Ad is your DC2 UK or JDM?

What mods have you done on your car. I don't see many DC2's these days.

My car is pretty stock, but have 96 JDM manifold, front lower H brace, and optional rear boot brace.

UK always :D

Did a full suspension and steering refresh back in 2011,
then she got driven.

Nothing crazy, comptech mani and exhaust. Injen open air filter (VTEC noises win), fully adjustable suspension with a fast road setup. Now on grooved MTEC discs, PBS pads and braided hoses (all you need unless doing heavy track work).

She's been off the road for a while since moving house as I've been away lot with work. Now the Berlingo and Insight need sorting before Teg emerges from her slumber.

Have you had yours a long time?

pilot sport 5 tyres getting good reviews

also ive had pilot sport 4 on multiple vechiles and are also good

Take a look at the OP.

15" wheels so those are no good.

Had mine since 2007, car is still under 80k, it was on 28k when I purchased it.

I have Ferodo DS2500 pads, and brakes international 6 groove disks, Motel rbf 600, never had brake fade not even on Silverstone.

I'm running the JDM geometry (thats still in limits of UK geometry), ABP did this years ago, however the car needs geo again.

What suspension are you running?

BTW The Yoko AD08RS are good so far, loads of forward traction in wet, they appear to be clearing water really well also. So far they appear better than Hankook RS2's, at this stage I can't imagine wanting more then the AD08RS's, more important they have not messed up the handing of the car.
