I have an asus x670e-e and I am only able to get he LAN working after a cold boot, after restarting the machine again it no longer shows in the device manager and works. I have tried the following.
Does anyone have any other ideas, really don't wanna build the system again?!?
  1. Check and Update Network Drivers:
    • In some instances, issues with the LAN port may be tied to outdated or incompatible drivers. It's advised to update the network drivers to the latest version available.
  2. Check Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the Windows Start button and select "Device Manager" from the menu. Look for "Network adapters" and expand the category. If you see the Ethernet adapter listed, right-click on it and select "Update driver" to see if there's a newer driver available3.
  3. Reset BIOS Settings:
    • If the Ethernet adapter is not listed in Device Manager, try resetting your BIOS settings. Restart your computer and press the appropriate key (usually Del or F2) to enter the BIOS setup. Look for an option to reset the settings to default or optimized defaults, save the changes, and exit the BIOS, then check if the Ethernet adapter is now listed in Device Manager3.
  4. Install Latest Drivers:
    • Download and install the latest Ethernet adapter drivers from the ASUS website. Go to the ASUS support page for your motherboard model, select the "Drivers & Tools" section, and download the Ethernet driver. Install the driver and restart your computer to see if the Ethernet adapter is now listed in Device Manager3.
  5. Check Physical Connections:
    • Ensure that your Ethernet cable is well connected and there isn’t anything stuck in the port for the network cable, as this might create a poor connection. Also, check whether the latch in the internet cable port is broken4.
  6. Uninstall ASUS Turbo LAN App:
    • If the problem persists, go to the Apps settings and uninstall the "ASUS Turbo LAN" app. Right-click on Start, then click on Settings, Click on Apps, search for the app called "ASUS Turbo LAN", click on that, and select Advanced options, then click to uninstall and reboot your PC5.
  7. Check for Hardware Issues:
    • If none of the above steps work, it’s possible that there’s a hardware issue with the Ethernet adapter. Check the physical connection and make sure the Ethernet cable is plugged in securely. You may also want to try a different Ethernet cable or port. If the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact ASUS customer support for further assistance3.
  8. Fix Network Connection Issues in Windows and Reset System:
    • There are tools within Windows to troubleshoot and fix network connection issues. Moreover, resetting the system could also be a potential solution4.
Each of these steps could potentially help in resolving the LAN port issue on your ASUS X670E-E motherboard. If the problem persists after trying these steps, reaching out to ASUS support for further assistance might be a prudent step.

Great thanks,
Found the posts, post 6621 and 6622 here

If you have a read through the thread from then onwards you'll find instructions in how to flash it too.

Managed to update the firmware as above, still the same issue though :(
Did you run the EEUPDATEW64e.exe /nic=1 /eepromver >temp.txt command again to confirm you are now on firmware 1.89 ?

Also turn off the PC at the mains for 30 seconds after the update before starting up again.

Yep, updated and off for a few mins.

I had this with an only Z77 board and i never sorted it. i just got into the habit of waiting for bios splash screen and pressing reset

honestly it's a ball ache to rebuild, so will leave it for now
yer i get that. do you have an OC on the CPU. i just remembered my problem (on z77) was when i had an OC
it was a problem where bios would post before the LAN had time to initiate, and hitting reset fixed it
