Hello all,

Looking to purchase a used 7900 xtx and just wanted to know where I would stand with warranty in the card in the event that it was needed?

Do Sapphire have a UK contact?

Many thanks

Sapphire RMA is via retailer in the UK as far as I know…

Will be difficult unless you are purchasing from an individual that will help you out.

Had a mate that got scammed out of a GPU by a retailer (not OCUK). Sapphire wanted nothing to do with it even after several prompts, would never buy this brand.

Sapphire own design product is 3yr, back to the reseller.
Sapphire MBA (AMD) is 2yr unless otherwise stated, back to reseller.
On the 7800XT MBA it says 3yrs on OCUK listing? I suppose it’s their own design as they’re the AIB and official AMD manufacturer?

PS on a different note have sapphire stopped making the 7900xt mba?

Thanks

sapphire are one of the most trustworthy 3rd party gpu manufacturers out there.

How can they be trustworthy if you can't even go directly to them?

In the past I had issues going to retailers after 12 months and if manufacture do not other anything how are people suppose to get the issue resolved without messing about down legal route?

If buying any component second hand assume that there is no warranty as hardly any are transferable these days. If you get the original invoice with the component it's pretty worthless as it's not your name or details on it and any refund will be made to the original method of purchase. On our Members Market most of us will help out our buyer with warranty claims but that is the exception.

For my genuine interest can you expand on that please?

"Got scammed out of a GPU by a retailer" In what way? Did Sapphire give a reason for wanting nothing to do with it? Is it related to whatever this retailer did?

Unless it is someone you know and trust to help you out: nowhere.

Its the law that the contract is between you and the retailer.

If the manufacturer tells you to do one, they are well within their right.

And yes, if the retailer wont play ball you take them to court, or better, pay with a credit card (as you should anyway) and try a section 75.

Many manufacturers often do honour warranties directly with proof of purchase, but my experience is this is becoming less frequent.

He had a Sapphire 5700xt which broke while in warranty. Retailer acknowledged the faulty GPU and offered a RX 580 as replacement. My friend said absolutely not but retailer said either take it or leave it.

He tried to get Sapphire to step in by email, social media etc. but they were having none of it. Retailer didn't even end up sending him the 580 because he would not accept it as replacement.

standard practice in nearly all Industries everything I sell the warranty will have to come back to me and then returned to supplier this can take anything from 2 weeks to 6 months

None of my suppliers will talk to an end user

we also do not transfer warranty if the parts are then resold or the vehicle is sold

thats just wrong but would expect the full thread was not as simple as this did it happen during covid and the great gpu shortage
