What's the best free stress test for GPUs?

As title, I like 3DMark but the free version is very limited. What free software would you say gives the GPU a proper stress test?

Unigine Superposition (or for older cards, valley or heaven) are similar sort of thing to 3DMark that I've used for testing GPUs in the past.

Furmark isn't necessarily recommended these days. With cards being more complex with different boost clocks and the like, GPU manufacturers have coded driver limitations to prevent cards being damaged by the very specific power draw that isn't representative of normal operation.

Not tried this since its release but isn't the free version limited to what settings you can choose?

Not as far as I know

If you want to avoid the suggested benchmarks why not just use a game you already own that has a built in benchmark and just set the GPU settings way beyond what it’s capable of, then bench it a few times?

It’ll certainly stretch it’s legs.

Looking at that I remember now. The most important setting for a stress test is locked behind the paywall. Looped Stress Test
Ignore what the table says - Valley and Heaven both run constantly anyway in a demo mode (not sure about Superposition)

Unigine Superposition although you dont exactly say what you are stress testing, an overlock? an undervolt ? a stock card but then again why do you want to stress a stock card ?

Heaven and the above would always give me a guide as to whether my OC was successful or not.
