Things that would have been cool to have seen in person...

Moon landing would have been amazing.
Still hard to believe they did it with tech of the day.
I was just over 3 at the time, and even then I knew it was something momentous. I asked my dad if I could stay up and watch it. He said no. I never forgave him. I always bore that in mind when my kids asked if they could do something and I didn't feel happy about it

Because of my interest in ancient Egypt. I would have loved to be present during the construction of Tutankhamun's tomb. Mainly because i am one of those people that think it was never his tomb in the first place.
In other words, i believe it is actually Nefertiti's tomb. So do quite a lot of Egyptologists. The problem is that the authorities in Egypt won't allow any proper work to be done in the tomb to prove or disprove this.

Ancient Rome in its glory days, including watching chariot races and gladiator fights and Jack the Ripper murdering someone. Sounds awful, but at least I’d know who the bugger was then

I would like to see the Northern Lights. The press bangs on about it every year and that it happens in the UK too with beautiful photos to go with it. I have never seen the Lights myself in my 45 years of existence though.

I would like to see one of those amazing light shows that you see at a dance event like Qlimax.

The Tories losing an election wouldn't go amiss either as they haven't lost for a while. I can't see that happening in 2024/25 though with the Labour party imploding over the Israel-Gaza war and the Lib-Dems not being up to much at the moment.

The total eclipse in 1999

I slept through it.

I did see the '99 eclipse and I was in the right place (had to be either Devon or Cornwall), but the weather was overcast, so it simply went dark pretty quickly and stayed dark for about 2 minutes, then quickly went light again. So I would liked to have seen that with a clear sky as per OP's query.

Was lucky to go to Norway 10 years ago and managed to photograph some wonderful lights

Didn't miss much, at least from where I was. I remember it being overcast and just a bit grey...
I would however love to see another one on a clear day.

In my head this means watching it from the moon and I'm picturing Armstrong turning around and filling his space suit at the sight of someone else already there :p

This is a good one, though I'd probably watch the highlights if I'm honest, I imagine it was quite slow day to day.

There are a lot of historical periods that would be amazing to observe from our point of view, from well before humans existed right up to living (but not my) memory. I'd also love to take a walk through places I know well at different times through history as well and see the development and change over generations. Nothing stand out just seeing the passing of time to get to where we are today.

What time of year?
I went to north Norway but it was summer so didn't get dark enough.

Planning on Greenland this year and would love to have a chance to catch it

1999 eclipse... Saw it.
Berlin wall coming down... Saw it on TV as it happened. Incredible and I knew it was.
9/11... Saw the second plane hit and the towers come down live on TV.
Moon landing... Didn't see it because I was busy being born at the time,

So that leaves Queen at Wembley. Wish I had seen that live.
