What PlayStation games have you picked up in the sale?

Is selling a digital only version of Red Dead 2 for £90 normal console practice nowadays :( ?

Oh, I agree 100%.

I remember when we were all buying physical copies of games and the conversation around the introduction of digital purchases and how it would herald cheaper games, as you're cutting out the retailer and all associated costs that come with it

Fast forward a number of years and in the vast majority of cases, it's cheaper to purchase the physical copy.

What with climate change and the need to reduce manufacturing and plastics….the big companies should be phasing out physical copies and encouraging digital with better deals lower subscriptions and more incentives.

All the games eventually become bargain bin…and the discs go into landfill…

Also many buy then sell on the discs….albeit this reduces plastic sales it also reduces games sales…as the same disk just goes around again and again until the games goes on sale digitally for £12 or something….

I’ve seen a few spider-man 2 disks for ps5 go around 5 or so times in the AV forums…

Starts at £48 played once…then gets to around £35 played 5 times…dropping further as the cycle increases…

I myself hate disks….and games are not an investment….just like Blu-ray….my mate has thousands of Blu-ray disks….in a box room on shelves like a mini library….cost him £1000s…..all are now worth diddly squat….and he watches them maybe once or twice….

Each to their own I guess…

Maybe things are changing….didnt know this…

Why is Alan Wake 2 a digital-only release?

There are many reasons for this. For one, many players have shifted to digital only. You can buy a Sony PlayStation 5 without a disc drive and Microsoft’s Xbox Series S is a digital only console. It is not uncommon to release modern games as digital-only.

Secondly, not releasing a disc helps keep the price of the game at $59.99 / €59.99 and the PC version at $49.99 / €49.99.

Finally, we did not want to ship a disc product and have it require a download for the game — we do not think this would make for a great experience either.

Is there a disc-based version of Alan Wake 2?

There are currently no plans to release Alan Wake 2 on disc.

This applies to all physical Switch games.

I just spent over £100 on six Switch RPG's because they are cheaper than the digital versions. Two of them I think went out of print so its slowly creeping up in price 2nd hand.

Have been tempted although I play games to death before moving on so they'll probably be even cheaper by the time I'd play them.

Casual gaming mate in the lounge on my new 77” Oled LG G3 with a beer…:D
Fair play bud. You’re getting the most out of your console ! :D they’re not in the sale, but, the last of us part one, and soon to be part 2 are both ps5 updated.

I’d also recommend days gone, ratchet and clank rift apart. Also, Spider-Man remaster, miles morales, and spider man 2.

Edit. Oh and also the horizon games. Zero dawn and the second one.

Cheers…

I loaded up Spider-Man Miles and played 20 mins….looked amazing on my TV…I’ve got PS Plus Premium but I’ll probs cancel in a year so collecting some titles cheap as chips on the way….

want to play Spider-Man remastered first but I’m not paying £50 for it….ive got Zero Dawn downloaded ready….cheers for the recommendations….:)

I don’t play racing games on PC….but with a controller on the sofa on massive tv is great….and NFS remastered scratched that retro itch for 3 quid! Hours of fun…less than a sandwich….Hot pursuit actually looks pretty sweet on the TV…was suprised…

Next phase is trying to play a FPS on controller without totally sucking!

Fair play chap. Honestly cannot recommend the last of us part one, and two enough. Fantastic if you like a story driven zombi/infected shooter.

Racing wise, gran Turismo is top (imo) it’s a bit pricey too, but I’d say it’s worth it. If you like track racers.

Edit. The car models, are second to none.

Last of us remastered 1 and 2 are on my wish list…:)

You actually have a few gems in there. Resi 2, Streets of Rage 4, Dirt Rally 2.0 are all great.
DR2.0 is easily as good as GT7 if you like rally.

NFS Hot Pursuit is the best of modern NFS, though it's more Burnout in disguise.
