Plumbing a non plumbed LG fridge freezer

we've just bought a LG American Fridge Freezer - this bad boy:

as part of our kitchen build. It's now fitted but as advertised doesn't require plumbing but our builder kindly put all the pipes in the wall for one which did require fitting. Now he says that a lot of the non-plumbed freezers can be plumbed anyway (and it's better if they are so you don't faff with filling water tanks) but you need to buy additional kit. Is this true? The manual doesn't say anything about this ...

It is a non plumb version, as far as i know you have a tank and that is it.

Yeah you can't plumb it in as it has a tank

You need to somehow look at swapping that out for a plumbed version, you will be cursing it forever. Non plumbed are really a compromise for when plumbing just isnt an option.

Can totally be done. Get a pressure reducer from Amazon, match the flow rate of the pump(count to 5 as you fill a glass from the dispenser and mark the level), disconnect the fill hose from the tank to the pump and insert your now correct pressurised mains pipe. Your most welcome. Obviously your appliances may differ to mine but there's always a solution if you try hard enough

What fridge freezer did you do this on and is it still fully working ok, just done it on mine on your advice but worried something will go wrong as just spent £1400 quod on it.
Does yours have ice dispenser or just water
