790 motherboards

I would check the bios revisions if you buy one since the boards came out before 14th gen was launched.

Very much board dependant - just browse your mobo support page for info - often you can decipher from BIOS revisions history.
There had been some more MOBOs released after 14gen went live which should already cater for it out of the box.

Some came with WiFi 7 as well as I recall?

I’d always get a motherboard with BIOS flashback for new CPU releases and/or saving a board after a failed BIOS update.

B760M Gaming Plus is one of those boards, I believe. Odd MSI didn't give it a MAX label, like they did with the other ones.

I'm maybe gonna go for the asus hero dono if it will require a bios update if so no go ...

Dark Hero: should be "out of the box" compatible (see here *).
Hero: might require an update.

In total, we’re releasing six new Z790 motherboards for your consideration as you hunt for the best motherboard for your 14th Gen Intel CPU. Our cutting-edge ROG Maximus motherboard family is expanding with the ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero, the ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore, and the ROG Maximus Z790 Formula. For gamers everywhere, we’re expanding our ROG Strix lineup with three new models.

Just had a look at the dark hero 700 odd na to expensive foe me
In my opinion: Asus are charging silly money for a guaranteed bios update, across their entire range. Unfortunately, they only include USB flashback on Strix models, so the older, more affordable TUF and Prime Z790 boards are not an option.

Might hold off a while abit disappointed thought these new boards would took these .thanks for all the reply.

Why would Wifi 7 be a consideration at this point? You'd struggle to see capable routers and internet providers by the time you change (5 years?) to really take advantage I'd imagine.

It’s very cool tech but very early days and if you’re not going to upgrade your router over the basic one from your ISP, don’t worry about it.

I’ll be getting WiFi 7 down the road but it’s only just been ratified so no point in buying WiFi parts that may or may not be certified
