Hi, Can I see how much my IGPU is being used compared to dedicated?

I am looking for a new laptop, and wanting to know if my usage of dedicated graphics needs one.

Is there a way to look back at how much usage it gets, or would it only be in real time?

This would be really helpful

Thanks
James

Download Gpu-z from Techpowerup, select the igpu it's to monitor and select log to file in the settings.

It'll save gfx data usage to a txt file.

You can run multiple instances of gpu-z to monitor different gfx output from your device at the same time.

By default in Windows. no you can't see this historically but you can see it in real time using task manager, assuming Windows 11 you can monitor your GPU usage via that so you can see which is being used at any given moment. Which gets used when can depend on if you have a Mux switch, driver configuration, program configuration and weather or not you have an external monitor connected that may be bypassing the internal GPU entirely as the connection is directly to the discrete GPU.
