Solar panel production figures

Have followed this thread for a while and am always amazed how much people are generating!

This month looks like its going to be the third month in a row where I am under my installers generation estimate. Is this a stat most people follow? How is everyone else doing for Feb?

I have a small system 3.3kW (3kW inverter) only a year old, so I'm not expecting huge numbers, I just seem to be in the cloudiest place in the country, Coventry!

I don't think there is anything wrong with my system either. No shade, not dirty and when it is sunny I seem to be generating quite a bit. Monday the 12th was the last sunny day and I generated 13.6 kWh. The 13th was only 1.1 kWh.

Is this just something everyone goes through at some point?

Yep pretty much
What facing are you because that affects your generation as well
E&W are more heavily impacted by timing of sun and just height of sun in the winter vs summer
Dont get me wrong S face the same challenges but they are at least facing towards the sun for more of the daylight hours in the winter

They are very nearly dead south. Only a couple of degrees to the east

Sounds normal to me. December was very poor here, less than half the quote prediction and Feb looks likely to miss as well, its all about the weather really. That sunny day you mention I did 17.1, next day was 1.7 followed by 1.2! So variable. (5kw SW facing system, orientation matters)

It's been quite an abnormally poor run since early October here. October, December and February so far have been abysmal. January was pants apart from 4 days in the middle of the month and that's actually the last time we had a fully clear day. Monday was the best day in recent weeks, but even then it was cloudy for nearly 3 hours when we should have been generating the most.

I still haven't been able to breach 15kWh yet in 2024 which I managed in late January in 2023. That's with 4.62kW more panels this year too.

My yearly results were slightly over the estimate, so I suppose its works out over the year.

Today was 5.5 kWh

Managed 10.3 today, next couple of days forecast for 15 kWh each.

If it keeps up at this rate I'll have more than double January's.
