Tother day I noticed ants around and under the rug, quite a few, but sparse compared to an ants nest, anyway started noticed them in the kitchen around the washer and dish washer and occasionally some on the cabinets.

I keep squashing them but more appear, I can't see enough to say they're definitely coming from a specific place, usually see them in 2s and 3s.

Tried spraying white vinegar but does nothing.

Any tips on how to eradicate them, it's only been the past week or so

I seem to get them every year. The bait stations have always been entirely ineffective.

The gel works sometimes, particularly if they have been using the food bin for a food source: I empty the bin and avoid putting any food in it for a few days, and put a load of the gel in there instead so they take that.

Some years, though, they seem to have an alternative food source and they mostly ignore the poison.

I've had ants a couple of times, very annoying. I keep the place pretty clean but they still go hunting, like you I don't see loads of them so I think it's a nearby nest and the ones I see are the scouts looking for food.

Bait station did clear up problems for me on at least one occasion.

Check outside see if you can spot a lot of them in your garden, if so bait station near where they travel may work.

Raid bait traps are really effective if you can cope with them being swarmed for a few hours until the poison wipes out the nest.
Yes I had ants in my kitchen but I couldn't tell where they were coming from so I took the plinth covers off and put a few of these under.... no more ants

Will try raid stations.

Gf thinks there coming from downstairs toilet, I emptied it yesterday and couldn't see sign of them but magically 30 on the floor this morning.

Unless troops are gathering at the toilet door readying a wider invasion of the house?

you need to spray/powder where they're getting in from. ants leave a chem trail that others follow so if you kill all the ones it the room others will just follow when they don't return. if you break the chem trail path they'll wander about until something else gets their interest.

I paid a pest guy about 300 last year to drill 15 holes in my walls and inject some kind of substance to kill them, we'll see if that solved the issue this summer I guess.

Well im no expert but i would search outdoors for any nearby nests and deal with them on their home ground.

I have had them many times outdoors over the years and they were nesting at the edges of garden where earth met slabs. I guess they were burrowing under the slabs.

in a flat I had in bulgaria, their place of choice was coming out from under skirting board ( place was tiled). Got a couple of cans of RAID and sprayed floor level around entire skirting and it did the job.

My garden is always getting ants nest, iv found the best way forward to deal with it after they decided to enter the house one day was shovel the nest and the hose the nests down, followed by powder around the ingress, in my case by the wall and around the window ledge and that sorts it for me

So after a week or so, we do see quite a few ants around the Nippon Ant bait stations, however it's not stopping them, I've not seen any huge swarms and usually see ants occasionaly along the floor, in the kitchen, living room, on the worktop in the kitchen, I can't fathom why the stations not working we try to keep everywhere clean of food too.
