1440p Gaming... RTX 3070 worth upgradeing??

Have to say though the GRE is great value. If AMD are true to their word and sort the over clocking out on this card it will only be about 10% slower for £200 less than the equivalent 7900xt AIB which seems very good value. Of course the 7900xt can overclock as well but even so.
Great 1440p/UW card the GRE, hoping they sort out the ability to tweak :)

Thanks to everyone for their inputs. It has helped me decide to leave the system as it is for now. Does the job, just leave some settings turned down. :)
You gave a budget of 625 quid. For that money, you want a very noticeable difference. I think you made the right decision as what you'd get for your budget wouldn't be noticeable enough.

Which is sad really. Should be able to get a good gpu for that, bit you just cant. Not even second hand
Exactly. Unbelievable, 600 odd quid and there's no value to be had. Nvidia and AMD are equally as guilty for this situation, both shafting gamers. Leather jacket man can go swivel if he thinks I'll pay these prices, gaming isn't THAT important in my life. Can better spend that cash elsewhere.

I basically agree that we are quite close to the next gen release. Plus I have a 3070 FE on a 2560 x 1440 monitor myself and it plays quite well still in recent games.

I'm sure you are feeling that upgrade itch so out of interest what is your base system as maybe there's an interim upgrade you could do to help with the next GPU.

i did have a personal limit of £300, bought 1080ti used for that. but then to get an upgrade worth while, i had to go £500 for a rtx3080) now for another upgrade it would have to be 3800 used. its just getting silly and im on the verge of just giving up.

gone are the days of sli too, which did help as well. could get a second card a year later
