Hi all,

I've been meaning to build a new PC to replace my current 1060 build. I was thinking about going team red this time around as I'm somewhat unconvinced by the 4000 series. It's been a good 10 odd years since I built my first PC so if any of you guys have any advice I'd appreciate it. I'll be using it for primarily gaming on 2x monitors (which I already have) 1980x1080 with 144hz w/ Freesync. The wattage calculator feels a bit low, so perhaps I've got a bit OTT but not sure if I'm missing something.

This is what I was planning:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Thermalright AXP90-X53 FULL 42.58 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX ATX AM5 Motherboard
Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Create Expert 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
Storage: Crucial P3 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
Video Card: PowerColor Hellhound OC Radeon RX 7600 XT 16 GB Video Card
Case: Fractal Design Pop Air ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM850e (2023) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home Retail - Download 64-bit
Total: £1377.72

Any thoughts?

Let's critique your build.

7800x3d excellent choice ,CPU cooler for £30 the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120se is the performance king and more suited than you choice.

The biggest negative is the 16gb 7600xt which is not much faster than the 8gb 7600xt, as your gaming across 2 1080p monitors I would upgrade the GPU to a 7800xt if you can afford it.

Windows keys can be had very cheap so that will save you a bundle and help towards the 7800xt.

Cheers lads.

Do you think it would be worthwhile swapping the Sapphire Pulse out for something with a boost clock or for OC'ing in the future? Or do you think it'll run too hot?

The pulse is fine and the cheapest 7800xt to get in budget but there are better models if you're prepared to pay .

Overclocking isn't worth the effort anymore as most of these things are at there Thermal limit, ideally you should be looking at undevolting to draw down the power and temps.
