What car is it? It’s rarely worth getting a NA car remapped for example.

For a lot of variants, that's basically all Audi did. Just de-tuned lower spec models, or to fit them inside certain road tax brackets.

Indeed, there are another couple of official states of tune for the OP's Engine (although whether they also have any hardware differences is difficult to know)

Yea there are off the shelf remaps loads of places sell. Or for best results get a custom job on a rolling road.

At 12 years old be prepared for something to fail. It probably won't happen but if you've got any components that are approaching the end of their life then a remap tends to see them on their way pretty rapidly.

Use a trusted tuner, prepare for things to start breaking not long after the remap on older cars if they have not been maintained to a high standard.
If its a well looked after car and you use a good mapper - you should have no major issues. Other than the clutch might start to slip if youre remapping a 3.0tdi with a 12 year old clutch.
