I've just started RDR2 after finishing Cyberpunk.
Same as a few othera...I'm not finding it a real draw yet... I had huge expectations, maybe too high!
Both the accuracy of the controls and the sporadic save game seems completely clunky and cumbersome. On the rare chance I get to save a game after completing a key point in a mission (like Hunting and skinning that huge bear), I'll save, come back the next and I've failed the mission and abandoned the bear skin.
It looks incredible but at around 12% in and a few missions after getting to Valentine I'm forcing myself to stick with it.

The controls annoyed me a lot vs Red Dead Redemption, they took all the "fun" mechanics out of the game when it came to shooting (or that's how I felt anyway) but I did grind through it, everyone else I knew at the time who got it, also bailed on it after a couple of hours (as they weren't enjoying it so much) I was enjoying the story but hating the controls so persisted with it.
The way the story finishes is one of the few games that have given me a visceral reaction (even more than the 1st)
I wish R* would add more additional single player content to their games though (I have 0 interest in both Red Dead and GTA to play their multiplayer component) so I've no doubt missed a lot of additional content/story lines perhaps in those sections of the respective games.
Also if anyone happens to have an ultrawide RDR2 might be one of the best games for that type of display

Just completed Doom 3 BFG Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Mission DLCs and had such a great time playing those after completing Doom 3 yesterday. I feel like I'm just going to be playing more and more old games as those seem to be just so much more fun for me lately.

I hear you. I got another ten days off after the b/h and I was thinking about playing something start to finish. I expect I'll actually play nothing and do something else entirely lol.
Started getting back into an indie game called Space Haven, it ticks so many boxes for me. Love the new Alpha18 release though it did mean i had to start over again which meant rebuilding my entire ship and crew that i worked on through 16 and 17.
Must have logged around 200 hours into this now and still can't get enough of it.

Been on my wishlist for ages, don't buy EA generally but look forward to the proper release.

Same i usually dont but this grabbed my attention when i got it a few years ago and i've been playing it ever since. The game mechanics are really good and have only improved on each alpha patch. I think there's another release or 2 to go before beta/full release.

I'm almost glad of the state of AAA/AA slop on pc these days. Means I pay more attention to games worthy of my attention in the first place.
Same, i don't even pay attention anymore. I just assume they're gonna be crap and 9/10 they are, disappoint after disappoint.

Absolutely. Most the games I'm looking forward to are indies I think, like Europa.
Call of Duty 2003, you can edit config file to run the game in modern resolution. Have been playing this all day today and it's been so much fun, they really nailed the gameplay from the first game. Just 2 more CoD games to play to finish all campaigns again in 2024, some of which I haven't played in like 15-20 years.

Storror Parkour Pro paid for early access earlier, not that great yet, but something a bit different, and I guess a Mirror's edge style game without running away and taking on enemies.
Just finishing off the last of us, started it Xmas but never got round to finishing. Story is peak. Mechanics feel a little dated. But the sory and atmosphere are better than most things released over the last 10 years and still looks great visually.
