Well it cant get worse can it poor day and only 11Kwh today but looks better for tomorrow

system is split two string East/West

Since the prices changed, despite one or two high generation days, I've not broken even once. The standing charge, lower payment amount. Bleh.

13kw so far but clouds and gone 4pm so wont be getting much more and I really REALLY hope tomorrow is an absolute godawful day

The standing charge is the killer. It went up 12p here and the unit rate for export dropped 2.8p and 4.5p on Flux during standard and peak. I normally force export in the peak window enough to cover the standing charge and about 1kW of non-cheap rate import which is our average. Its now taking 4kWh of export in the window just to cover this.

Taking March as an example, we were -£17 not including the saving sessions. If it was under the new April prices, we'd have been at +£2. If that sort of difference was to be replicated for 12 months its quite an amount.

The new rates and standing charges are quite uncompetitive in my opinion.
But what can you do? The valid and mature case that won't get listened to is that a higher standing charge is less effective at encouraging careful electricity use, as it's a flat cost that's unavoidable by being sensible with use.
