Weird electrics problem in kitchen

Its a dodgy connection somewhere.
 
like I said see if only one of the L/N on the tumble drier socket is live ... by looking to see if there is 240v between that and the cooker outlet with a meter,
this would then confirm one side, for drier, has become disconnected somewhere .. both would seem unlikely.
 
usually comes back to bite you if it seems temporarily working - had a washing machine on an extension lead, which I'd made up myself 10+ years ago;
had a flakey connection that worked itself loose over years of garden use ... washing machine was cutting out/resetting at arbitrary times.
 
Well the electrician came out yesterday and checked everything.

Oven nothing to do with tumble dryer
Checked oven and tumble dryer sockets, switches, fuses

No fault found, everything safe

Mystery!

Have you confirmed that the dryer is definitely on the socket circuit and not the oven circuit. It would be a good idea to check that now while it's all working, it might be helpful if the issue comes back.
 
This could be as simple as a screw through the cable that moved when things were removed and refitted.
 
.. some problem associated with the dryer then ? would other stuff have worked in that socket when dryer wouldn't ..

No, tried phone charger in that socket and that wouldn't work either. Three days later, it started working again lol
