I fancy a round...

One golf game I have enjoyed in more recent years is Everybody's Golf on the PS4. As far from realistic as you can get, and yes with some over excitable players, but it's a good fun game to play a quick round on.
 
I still have a massive soft spot for Microprose Golf on the Amiga. I remember the amazing at the time "ball follow cam" after hitting the ball. And yeah before that it was Leaderboard. I also remember one of the earliest versions of Links on the crappy PC in our office at work and can still remember how it slowly drew the first hole on the Bountiful Municipal golf course :D
 
Which is the recommended golf game at the moment my brother loves it, any version old or new just a all around good golf game.

Had a look at PGA TOUR 2K23 but kind of clueless myself.

They are great fun. I sunk a lot of hours into the PSP and Vita versions
 
I play it all the time OP, massive fan of golf games since growing up with Leaderboard way way back in time in the 80s. Pretty much played every golf game there is. Be more than happy to play some rounds, share the knowledge. PGA Tour 2K23 is great, probably the best modern golf game out there.

I remember being a dumb ass kid and selling my Mario Golf game because I assumed I completed it once I finished the 18 holes.
 
Love a good golf game. I'm another three click swing and unlikely to deviate. Mouse/Pad swing just never appealed, so I've never taken to the latest games.

Microprose David Leadbetter's Golf, looked like you were playing on the moon but the first full 3D sim. Loved this and still do (got a boxed copy). Waiting patiently for it to appear on GOG:

Must admit though, some days my reactions are a bit sloth like in games such as Links, usually punting the ball miles! Seems the click swing is much quicker than I remember.

In all golf games judging pitching distance is always a nightmare!
