R5 5600 with 4 sticks of ram??

16gb (2x8gb) Viper 3600mhz

now my buddy is wanting to upgrade to 32 gb of ram and can but a second ram kit for about £30, is the 5600 known to play nice with 4 sticks or is he best to dump it and buy 2x16gb

It'll be fine usually, but given how little RAM costs probably only end up costing £10 more to buy 32GB and sell the 16GB.

You have the best chance with this CPU (compared to older gens), but it is still safest to get 2x16.

that is what i said, with 5XXX your ok with 4 sticks, but at 3600mhz i dont know..

I ran my 4 sticks at 3600 with my 5600, just turned on xmp and it just worked

The other reason I usually recommend 2x16 now is because the 8gb sticks can easily be high density (x16) with only 4 memory chips and they're much slower than the old ones, even for gaming.

You're always best sticking to 2 sticks. You may not get the same timings and speed with 4 as it puts more stress on the memory controller, depends on the MB.

Should be fine, AM4 RAM issues have long been ironed out.
